This document outlines 12 guidelines for making web content accessible to people with disabilities. It discusses why accessibility is important as the number of people with disabilities who use the web is growing. The guidelines address the needs of people with visual, hearing, physical, and cognitive disabilities by recommending providing alternatives for visual and audio content, not relying only on color, clarifying language usage, using proper markup and stylesheets, designing tables and technologies to adapt to different devices, allowing user control of content, and ensuring clear navigation and simple documentation.
