1. World Wide Web (WWW) It is an international telecommunication network that consists on a collection of files link. The link between the files is usually name as hyperlink and the files are name as web pages. Files contain text, photos, images, video, sound, and animations. These files are done with a language specially done for the web pages, the HTML (HyperText Markup Language). The collection of web pages is called web site.
2. Communication Protocol and URL Communication protocol: It is a set of rules to communicate the computers in a network. The TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol / Internet Protocol) is one of the most common protocols that regulates Internet. http (HyperText Transfer Protocol) It is the protocol use to transfer web pages on the Internet. URL means Uniform Resource Locator, this is a unique address for each one of the web site or web pages, you can see this address in the address box of a browser. It is a method use to identify the location inside Internet. Examples of URL http://www.gda.itesm.mx/Alumnos/Index.html The parts of an URL are http:// - Protocol www.gda.itesm.mx – Name of the server where the page is located Alumnos – Name of the folder inside the server Index.html – Name of the document and file extension
3. Web browsers Those are the computer programs use to access the web pages, they were done to display and load the hypertext (words link to files). Examples: Netscape Navigator Internet Explorer

Principal functions of the browsers Favorites: If you like one of the pages you visited, instead of trying to remember the address or the steps you did to got into that page, you can save the URL in the Favorites. Search: It lets search for information by typing a word, author, city, region, etc. Stop: Click this button to stop the search engine to introduce a new URL. Home: The home page is the page shown everytime you launch the browser. When you are navigating and you click on this button, the browser returns to the home page assigned by you. Navigation bar: They are used to go forward and backward once you visited the pages. Backward will retrace to view pages you visited previously and Forward will go on the pages.
5. Searcher Engine They are use to find information on Internet about a specific theme. Examples Yahoo( http://yahoo.com) Google(http://google.com)
6. Electronic Mail System of computers and software that transmits, receives, and stores e-mail messages. With this tool, messages can be send or receive from any part of the world, if the user has the e-mail address of another user, because, somehow, this should be private; there is not a public directory where you can look for the address. 7. The options shown on an e-mail message are: Address of the person who will receive the message. Carbon Copy, person who will receive a copy of the message Blind Carbon Copy, hides the address of the person who will receive the message. Subject of the message Here goes the text of the message

9. Reply to all: Use to answer to all the persons who received the message. Be careful when using this option, because everybody on the message will be receiving it.
