Martin Handford is a British children's book author and illustrator best known for creating the Where's Waldo? book series in the 1980s. The story follows Waldo, a man who dresses in red and white stripes and travels the world. Readers are challenged to find Waldo hidden among crowds of other characters. Some pages in the original book were challenged in 1989 for containing nearly hidden nude images, but the author believes the content was overblown and not obscene for children.
