Meteorology The Water Cycle Day 2
What is the water cycle? The continuous movement of water between Earth’s surface and the air, changing from liquid to gas to liquid.

Condensation 14. Condensation - The changing of a gas into a liquid. Water vapor in the air gets cold and changes back into liquid, forming clouds.
What happens to a glass of ice cold lemonade on a hot summer day?
The water vapor in the air is going to get cold when it touches the glass and turn back into liquid. This causes the glass of lemonade to become wet on the outside of the glass.
What is precipitation? 13. Precipitation- Any form of water particles that falls from the atmosphere and reaches the ground. When water condenses so much that a cloud can no longer hold it the water falls back to the earth in the form of rain, hail, or snow.
Collection When water precipitates or falls back to the earth it collects in bodies of water such as lakes, rivers, and oceans. It can also go into the soil and become groundwater. What is all of the water on Earth known as?
