Industrial water pollution is a major problem in Narayanganj, Bangladesh. The many factories and mills contaminate nearby water sources with untreated wastewater containing harmful chemicals and metals. This pollution poses serious risks to human health and the environment. Some effective ways to reduce industrial water pollution include minimizing waste production, eliminating dangerous materials, improving waste management systems, and treating wastewater before discharge. Strong government regulations and enforcement of laws are needed to protect the water quality and people of Narayanganj from the impacts of industrial pollution.

Narayanganj is a city in central
Bangladesh. It is located in the
Narayanganj District, near the
capital city of Dhaka. The city is
on thebank of the Shitalakshya
River. The river port of
Narayanganj is one of the oldest
in Bangladesh.

4. It is also a center of business and industry,especially the jute trade and
processing plants, and the textile sector of the country. It is nicknamed
the Dundee of Bangladesh due to thepresence of lots of jute mills.
Dundee was the first industrialized Jute polis in the world
Water pollution is defined as contamination of water bodies which
includes lakes, rivers, oceans, and groundwater.

5. Industries are the largest contributors of water pollution. The industrial waste that
includes hazardous waste includes harmful chemicals and metals that can easily
contaminate water sources.
More often than not, the industrial waste is discarded via wastewater and this
untreated wastewater can contaminate the ground water. This is one of the
primary reasons for water pollution. Some of the industrial pollutants include
cleaning fluids, pesticides, metals like mercury, lead and nitrate. Oils and
petrochemical can also make the water too polluted for drinking or for other
manufacturing purposes.

6. The most obvious consequences of Water Pollution are water crisis. The world is
already dealing with water crisis due to shortage of clean water. If the industries
keep on contaminating the available potable water, the crisis is likely to get
intense. Which is industries need to take some more steps to reduce the industrial
waste or find a way to prevent those harmful elements from getting into to the
natural water resources like rivers, lakes and sea.
Other impact of industrial water pollution is destruction of the environment.
When harmful chemicals and elements get into ground water, river, lakes or in the
soil, they can create a very unhealthy environment. Threat to life- animals. Plants
and humans – due to the presence of these harmful elements is one of the risks
of water pollution by industrial waste.

global warming, water and food crisis and more. Water is very important for
everyone, from plants to animals and humans to industries. Even industries and
commercial establishment need clean water for their processes.
Clean water is the need of the hour and reducing water pollution will help bridge
the gap between demand and supply. Apart from that, water recycling,
preservation and wastewater treatment will also help reduce the impact of
growing water crisis.

8. There are various methods for reducing water pollution. Industries are already
using some of the methods but more advanced methods are needed to tackle the
problem. Hare are some of the ways industries can reduce water pollution:
● Reducing the waste produced so that the wastewater will help lesser number of
contaminants in it. Industries can also change the composition of the products that are
made to reduce the waste produced from them.
● Reduce or completely eliminate the dangerous materials used in the production
process. This can greatly reduce the amount of waste that is produced during the
process.
● Adopting the strategy of waste management system, waste minimization programs,
loss prevention and waste segregation can help reduce water pollution.

9. The incredible increase of population over the last few decades has created great environmental problems with a
mounting disposal of solid waste, sewage and drainage problems. The water quality of the River have been dramatically
disrupted due to extreme eduction of its flow and grabbing of the banks and rigorous pollution dueto organic chemicals,
inorganic chemicals, oxygen demanding waste,heat, sediment pathogens etc. Thus, rivers poses serious environmental
threats to the sustainable environment of Narayanganj. The river is very serve pollution. For it pollution, people of the
areaare affected and they are suffering many kind of diseases. Many kinds of diseases are breaking out day-by-day.
