Solid waste management is one of the major aspect which has to be considered in terms of making urban area environment healthier. The common dustbins placed by the municipal corporation are leading number of health, environmental and social issues. Various causes are like improper dustbin placement in city, improper system of collecting waste by City Corporation, and more specifically people are not aware enough to use dustbins in proper way. These various major causes are leading serious problems like, an unhygienic condition, air pollution and unhealthy environment creating health disease. Up till now, research has been carried out by developing a Software Applications for indicating dustbin status, another by shortest part method for garbage collecting vehicles by integrating RFID ,GSM, GIS system but no active efforts has been taken paying attention towards managing such waste in atomized way. Considering all these major factors, a smart solid waste management system is designed that will check status and give alert of dustbin fullness and more significantly system has a feature to literate people to use dustbin properly and to literate people to use dustbin properly and to automatically sense and clean garbage present outside the dustbin. Thus presented solution achieves smart solid waste management system. M. Waste organization is one of the fundamental issue that the world goes up against free of the case of made or making country. The key issue in the waste organization is that the junk canister at open spots stretches out beyond time some time as of late the start of the accompanying cleaning process. It is this way prompts distinctive dangers, for instance, horrendous aroma and disagreeableness to that place which may be the principle driver for spread of various afflictions. To avoid all such hazardous circumstance and keep up open cleanliness also, prosperity this work is mounted on a splendid decline structure. This technique is bolstered by the ultrasonic sensor which is interfaced with Arduino UNO to check the level of waste filled in the dustbin and sends the alert to the common web server once if waste is filled.
Internet of Things (IoT) can play a major role in keeping the city of Accra clean, greener, more efficient, and safer. This paper proposed a smart garbage collection on the grounds of level of garbage present in the dustbin. This study tries to present a garbage collection management solution based on providing intelligence to dustbin using IoT prototype with sensors. This system would help to maintain cleanness of the streets of Accra Ghana by sending signals through a sensor to a garbage collection unit alerting this unit of the collection of the garbage as and when the dustbins are full. The extreme programming (XP) method was used in building the system which uses ultrasonic sensors placed in the lids of the bins to detect the garbage level and compare it with the garbage bins depth. The system makes use of AVR family microcontroller, LEDs, a SIM800L GSM/GPRS Module and was powdered by a 12V transformer. It was found out that the use of this system assisted in identifying places or areas where garbage bins are full for collection and disposal. It was also found out that waste management companies that adapted the use of this system were achieving their goals of collecting bins at the right time as compare to companies that were not making use of such technology. It was concluded that waste management companies using the system perform better in terms of picking up bins that were full due to the signals received at any point in time which has made in Accra Ghana a community without garbage bins over flowing with rubbish.

In cities where a large geographical area of the city is densely populated, the process of waste collection is cumbersome, tiresome and expensive. Often, the burden of manually tracking and collecting of waste causes waste management companies enormous wasted effort and get them involved in tasks that are not necessary. No doubt, a digital interaction between waste management companies and targeted waste collection areas could ensure the process becomes fast, efficient and traceable as they become aware of the states of the wastes, aptly. It will considerably reduce any discrepancies that may occur due to the lack of information available during a particular time. Accordingly, this paper proposes a novel approach towards waste management combined with the internet of things to reduce the problems that would occur due to the accumulation of wastes and hence improvise waste collection/management process. Additionally, an innovative feature which generates revenue and creates business opportunities for waste management companies is introduced via advertisement solution based on network-attached storage technology.
The govt. of India has launched various smart city projects and for these cities to be smarter it is necessary that the system which collects the garbage has to be smarter. In addition to that it is necessary that people need easy accessibility to the garbage disposing points as well as the garbage collection process. It has to be efficient in terms of time and fuel cost. Most of the urban cities and town in India are not well designed to facilitate the proper garbage disposing and collection mechanism. Also there are cities which are expanding rapidly and are putting the pressure on the current infrastructure which is not developing at the same pace as that of the current urbanization. In our propose system we are going to check garbage fill status of the dustbin by using Ultrasonic Sensor, Buzzer, Arduino Board, Moisture Sensor, Wifi Model this will check the status and send the message to cloud that Dustbin is full, then message is sent to collection van through Wifi Module then garbage collection is done, if the Dustbin is not cleaned in paticular time we will send message to higher authority and they will take approprite action on it.Our proposed system is going to segregate Dry and Wet garbage. Therefore, the Automatic Garbage Fill Alerting system makes the garbage collection more efficient, which will ultimately make our dustbins and also cities smart at the same time. Blockchain technology has been proposed as a way to track and trace waste throughout its lifecycle, promoting transparency and accountability in waste management processes. However, challenges such as data interoperability, privacy concerns, and regulatory barriers have limited its widespread adoption in the waste management sector.
Overall, while these innovative waste management ideas hold promise for addressing global waste challenges, overcoming barriers to their effective implementation will require collaboration, investment, and ongoing research and development efforts.Smart Waste Monitoring System: Implement a digital platform that utilizes IoT (Internet of Things) sensors to monitor waste bins' fill levels in real-time. This data can optimize waste collection routes, reduce fuel consumption, and minimize overflowing bins. The government can invest in the deployment of sensor technology and provide subsidies for municipalities to adopt smart waste management systems.
IoT: smart garbage monitoring using android and real time databaseTELKOMNIKA JOURNAL
Every single day, garbage is always produced and sometimes, due to the unbalance between high volume produced and the garbage volume transported to the landfill; it then leads to the buildup. To prevent any negative impact on environment, a system is needed to support the waste management process. Smart Garbage Monitoring System consists of two parts: portable garbage can and monitoring application using android smartphone. The use of ultrasonic sensor, GPS and GSM Module on the garbage can aims to provide the data on the garbage and send it to the real time database, in which the data will be processed by the monitoring application on smartphone to determine the time of garbage transport purposely to prevent any buildup. The system doesn't need a server to process, because the entire process of will be run by android application on a smartphone. Test results showed the capability of the system in monitoring the garbage can with the minimum distance between the wastes by three meters. The information on the height level of garbage can be synchronized in real time to smartphone, with an average delay on the EDGE network of 4.57 seconds, HSPA+ of 4.52 seconds and LTE of 3.85 seconds.

The Impact of Digital Media on the Decentralization of Power and the Erosion ...ijtsrd
The impact of digital media on the distribution of power and the weakening of traditional gatekeepers has gained considerable attention in recent years. The adoption of digital technologies and the internet has resulted in declining influence and power for traditional gatekeepers such as publishing houses and news organizations. Simultaneously, digital media has facilitated the emergence of new voices and players in the media industry. Digital medias impact on power decentralization and gatekeeper erosion is visible in several ways. One significant aspect is the democratization of information, which enables anyone with an internet connection to publish and share content globally, leading to citizen journalism and bypassing traditional gatekeepers. Another aspect is the disruption of conventional media industry business models, as traditional organizations struggle to adjust to the decrease in advertising revenue and the rise of digital platforms. Alternative business models, such as subscription models and crowdfunding, have become more prevalent, leading to the emergence of new players. Overall, the impact of digital media on the distribution of power and the weakening of traditional gatekeepers has brought about significant changes in the media landscape and the way information is shared. Further research is required to fully comprehend the implications of these changes and their impact on society. A Study on the Effective Teaching Learning Process in English Curriculum at t...ijtsrd
“One Language sets you in a corridor for life. Two languages open every door along the way” Frank Smith English as a foreign language or as a second language has been ruling in India since the period of Lord Macaulay. But the question is how much we teach or learn English properly in our culture. Is there any scope to use English as a language rather than a subject How much we learn or teach English without any interference of mother language specially in the classroom teaching learning scenario in West Bengal By considering all these issues the researcher has attempted in this article to focus on the effective teaching learning process comparing to other traditional strategies in the field of English curriculum at the secondary level to investigate whether they fulfill the present teaching learning requirements or not by examining the validity of the present curriculum of English. The purpose of this study is to focus on the effectiveness of the systematic, scientific, sequential and logical transaction of the course between the teachers and the learners in the perspective of the 5Es programme that is engage, explore, explain, extend and evaluate. The Role of Mentoring and Its Influence on the Effectiveness of the Teaching ...ijtsrd
This paper reports on a study which was conducted to investigate the role of mentoring and its influence on the effectiveness of the teaching of Physics in secondary schools in the South West Region of Cameroon. The study adopted the convergent parallel mixed methods design, focusing on respondents in secondary schools in the South West Region of Cameroon. Both quantitative and qualitative data were collected, analysed separately, and the results were compared to see if the findings confirm or disconfirm each other. The quantitative analysis found that majority of the respondents 72 of Physics teachers affirmed that they had more experienced colleagues as mentors to help build their confidence, improve their teaching, and help them improve their effectiveness and efficiency in guiding learners’ achievements. Only 28 of the respondents disagreed with these statements. With majority respondents 72 agreeing with the statements, it implies that in most secondary schools, experienced Physics teachers act as mentors to build teachers’ confidence in teaching and improving students’ learning. The interview qualitative data analysis summarized how secondary school Principals use meetings with mentors and mentees to promote mentorship in the school milieu. This has helped strengthen teachers’ classroom practices in secondary schools in the South West Region of Cameroon. With the results confirming each other, the study recommends that mentoring should focus on helping teachers employ social interactions and instructional practices feedback and clarity in teaching that have direct measurable impact on students’ learning achievements. Design Simulation and Hardware Construction of an Arduino Microcontroller Bas...ijtsrd
This study primarily focuses on the design of a high side buck converter using an Arduino microcontroller. The converter is specifically intended for use in DC DC applications, particularly in standalone solar PV systems where the PV output voltage exceeds the load or battery voltage. To evaluate the performance of the converter, simulation experiments are conducted using Proteus Software. These simulations provide insights into the input and output voltages, currents, powers, and efficiency under different state of charge SoC conditions of a 12V,70Ah rechargeable lead acid battery. Additionally, the hardware design of the converter is implemented, and practical data is collected through operation, monitoring, and recording. By comparing the simulation results with the practical results, the efficiency and performance of the designed converter are assessed. The findings indicate that while the buck converter is suitable for practical use in standalone PV systems, its efficiency is compromised due to a lower output current. Sustainable Energy by Paul A. Adekunte | Matthew N. O. Sadiku | Janet O. Sadikuijtsrd
Energy becomes sustainable if it meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. Some of the definitions of sustainable energy include the considerations of environmental aspects such as greenhouse gas emissions, social, and economic aspects such as energy poverty. Generally far more sustainable than fossil fuel are renewable energy sources such as wind, hydroelectric power, solar, and geothermal energy sources. Worthy of note is that some renewable energy projects, like the clearing of forests to produce biofuels, can cause severe environmental damage. The sustainability of nuclear power which is a low carbon source is highly debated because of concerns about radioactive waste, nuclear proliferation, and accidents. The switching from coal to natural gas has environmental benefits, including a lower climate impact, but could lead to delay in switching to more sustainable options. “Carbon capture and storage” can be built into power plants to remove the carbon dioxide CO2 emissions, but this technology is expensive and has rarely been implemented. Leading non renewable energy sources around the world is fossil fuels, coal, petroleum, and natural gas. Nuclear energy is usually considered another non renewable energy source, although nuclear energy itself is a renewable energy source, but the material used in nuclear power plants is not. The paper addresses the issue of sustainable energy, its attendant benefits to the future generation, and humanity in general. Paul A. Adekunte | Matthew N. O. Sadiku | Janet O. Concepts for Sudan Survey Act Implementations Executive Regulations and Stand...ijtsrd
This paper aims to outline the executive regulations, survey standards, and specifications required for the implementation of the Sudan Survey Act, and for regulating and organizing all surveying work activities in Sudan. The act has been discussed for more than 5 years. The Land Survey Act was initiated by the Sudan Survey Authority and all official legislations were headed by the Sudan Ministry of Justice till it was issued in 2022. The paper presents conceptual guidelines to be used for the Survey Act implementation and to regulate the survey work practice, standardizing the field surveys, processing, quality control, procedures, and the processes related to survey work carried out by the stakeholders and relevant authorities in Sudan. The conceptual guidelines are meant to improve the quality and harmonization of geospatial data and to aid decision making processes as well as geospatial information systems. The established comprehensive executive regulations will govern and regulate the implementation of the Sudan Survey Geomatics Act in all surveying and mapping practices undertaken by the Sudan Survey Authority SSA and state local survey departments for public or private sector organizations. The targeted standards and specifications include the reference frame, projection, coordinate systems, and the guidelines and specifications that must be followed in the field of survey work, processes, and mapping products. In the last few decades, there has been a growing awareness of the importance of geomatics activities and measurements on the Earths surface in space and time, together with observing and mapping the changes. In such cases, data must be captured promptly, standardized, and obtained with more accuracy and specified in much detail. The paper will also highlight the current situation in Sudan, the degree to which survey standards are used, the problems encountered, and the errors that arise from not using the standards and survey specifications. Towards the Implementation of the Sudan Interpolated Geoid Model Khartoum Sta...ijtsrd
The discussions between ellipsoid and geoid have invoked many researchers during the recent decades, especially during the GNSS technology era, which had witnessed a great deal of development but still geoid undulation requires more investigations. To figure out a solution for Sudans local geoid, this research has tried to intake the possibility of determining the geoid model by following two approaches, gravimetric and geometrical geoid model determination, by making use of GNSS leveling benchmarks at Khartoum state. The Benchmarks are well distributed in the study area, in which, the horizontal coordinates and the height above the ellipsoid have been observed by GNSS while orthometric heights were carried out using precise leveling. The Global Geopotential Model GGM represented in EGM2008 has been exploited to figure out the geoid undulation at the benchmarks in the study area. This is followed by a fitting process, that has been done to suit the geoid undulation data which has been computed using GNSS leveling data and geoid undulation inspired by the EGM2008. Two geoid surfaces were created after the fitting process to ensure that they are identical and both of them could be counted for getting the same geoid undulation with an acceptable accuracy. In this respect, statistical operation played an important role in ensuring the consistency and integrity of the model by applying cross validation techniques splitting the data into training and testing datasets for building the geoid model and testing its eligibility. The geometrical solution for geoid undulation computation has been utilized by applying straightforward equations that facilitate the calculation of the geoid undulation directly through applying statistical techniques for the GNSS leveling data of the study area to get the common equation parameters values that could be utilized to calculate geoid undulation of any position in the study area within the claimed accuracy. Both systems were checked and proved eligible to be used within the study area with acceptable accuracy which may contribute to solving the geoid undulation problem in the Khartoum area, and be further generalized to determine the geoid model over the entire country, and this could be considered in the future, for regional and continental geoid model. Embracing GenAI - A Strategic ImperativePeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

that good safety system are to be implemented in places of
education and work. This work modifies the existing safety
model installed in industries and this system can also be
used in homes, villages, cities and offices. Most of drainage
and unused wells are formingtoxicgases. Themainobjective
of the work is designing microcontroller based toxic gas
detecting, alerting system and gas purification. The
hazardous gases like H2S, CO and Methane will be sensed
and displayed each and every second in the LCD display. If
these gases exceed the normal level then an alarm is
generated immediately and also an alert message (SMS) is
sent to the authorized person through the GSM. The
advantage of this automated detection and alerting system
over the manual method is that it offers quick response time
and accurate detection of an emergency and in turn leading
faster diffusion of the critical situation using gaspurification
process convert toxic gases into pure air. The garbage
alerting system is used to control theairpollution.Allthegas
sensor values are continuously monitoring through the
mobile application using Wi-Fi module. This system is very
much to make city smart as well as reduce the human death.
The increase in population, has led to tremendous
degradation in the state of affairs of hygienic with respect to
waste management system. The spillover of waste in civic
areas generates the polluted condition in the neighboring
areas. It may aggravate numerous severe disease for the
nearby people. This will humiliate the appraisal of the
affected area. For eliminating or mitigated the garbage’sand
maintains the cleanliness, it requires ‘smartness-based’
waste management system. Thepaper isproposed IoTbased
smart waste clean management system which checks the
waste level over the dustbins byusingSensorsystem.Onceit
detected immediately this system altered to concern
authorized through GPRS/GSM system. To monitor and
integrate an android application is developed for thedesired
information which is related to various level of waste in
different locations. This is ensued the greenish in the
environment and support for Swachh bharat for cleanliness.
With growth of cities, the waste produces also increase.
Many of the world’s developing cities are all lacking in the
area of waste management, in particular, the collection
garbage within cities. Because of this, garbage tends to pile
up in certain areas. This not only poses a health risk to the
surrounding communities, but also creates unpleasant
environments for the residents. To provide a solution tothis
problem, a smart garbage monitoring system is therefore
proposed to tackle the issued faced. This system will allow
the city authorities to better manage their resources in the
collection of garbage and provide a platform that will allow
for an efficient garbage collection system.
NAND Flash memory has been used for the data storage of
mobile devices, laptops, and various embeddedsystems, but
requires a garbage collection mechanism due to its erase-
before-write characteristic. Garbage collection consist of a
series of activities (such as read, write, and eraseoperations)
that usually degrade the lifetime and the performance of
NAND based storage systems. In this paper, we propose a
demand-based caching method for garbage collection in
flash-memory embedded system. The experimental results
show that the proposed method can cache a small part of
appropriate information about garbage collection in RAM –
limited embedded system and the performance is till
reasonable.
III. METHODOLOGY
A. EXISITING SYSTEM
In today’s world many pollution monitoring systems are
designed by considering different environmental
parameters. Existing system model is presented in uses
Zigbee based wireless sensor networks to monitor physical
and environmental conditions with thousands of application
in different fields. The sensor nodes directly communicated
with the moving nodes deployed on the object of interest
which avoided the useof complexroutingalgorithmbutlocal
computations are very minimal. A server is an instance of a
computer program that accepts and responds to requests
made by another program; known as a client. Less formally,
any device that runs server software could be considered a
server as well. Servers are used to manage network
resources. The services or information in the server are
provided through the Internet that are connected through
LAN and made available for users via smart phones, web
browsers or other web devices to make the system more
intelligent, adaptable and efficient.
B. PROPOSED SYSTEM
The proposed embedded device is for monitoring the
percentage of dustbin filled through wireless
communication. The data obtained from multiple sensors
will be read by a development board called Arduino UNO
which is based on Atmega 328p. And thethresholdvalue and
actual value is compared here using some blocks of code. In
case of up reached the threshold value the data of dustbin
location will be sent to the incharge of particular dustbin
using the GSM technology. It sends the data to cloud which
stores, displays the data. We can host the data to internetfor
remote viewing.

C. ARUDINO UNO
The Atmega 328 microcontroller is the MCUused in Arduino
UNO R3 as a main controller. Atmega 328 isan MCUfromthe
AVR family. It is an 8-bit device, which means that its data-
bus architecture and internal registers are designed to
handle 8parallel data signals. Arduino is an open source
electronics platform based easy to use hardware and
software. Arduino boards are able to reads inputs light on a
sensor, a finger on a button, or a Twitter message and turn it
into an output activating a motor, turning on a LED.
D. THING SPEAK
According to developers, “THING SPEAK” is an open source
Internet of Things (IoT) application and API to store and
retrieve data from things using HTTP protocol over the
Internet or via a Local Area Network. Thing speak enables
the creation of sensor logging applications, location tracking
applications, and a social network of things with status
updates. Thing speak has integrated support from the
numerical computing software MATLAB from Math Works
allowing Thing Speak users to analyze and visualize
uploaded data using Matlab without requiring the purchase
of a Matlab license from Math works.
IV. SENSORS
A. ULTRASONIC SENSOR
The Ultrasonic transmittertransmitsan ultrasonicwave,this
wave travels in air, and when it getsobjectedbyanymaterial
it gets reflected back towards the sensor this reflected wave
is observed by the Ultrasonic receiver module. Ultrasonic
sensors measure distance by using ultrasonic wave. The
sensor head emits an ultrasonic wave and receives thewave
reflected back from the target. Ultrasonic Sensor measure
the distance to the target by measuringthetimebetweenthe
emission and reception.
An optical sensor has a transmitter and receiver, whereasan
ultrasonic sensor uses a single ultrasonic element for both
emission and reception. In a reflective model ultrasonic
sensor, a single oscillator emits and receives ultrasonic
waves alternatively. This enables miniaturization of the
sensor head.
The distance can be calculated with the following formula:
Distance L = ½ x T x C
B. Internet of things (IoT)
The internet of things is a network of physical objects
embedded with electronics, software, sensors and network
connectivity that enables these objects to collect and
exchange data. A collective term for the physical that are
connected to the internet and can exchange data without
user involvement. A Thing in the Internet of things; a
processing unit that is capable of connecting to the internet
and exchange data with the cloud. Devices are often called
smart devices or connected devices. They communicate two
types of data: - telemetry and state.
C. GSM
A GSM modem is a device which can be either a mobile
phone or a modem device which can be used to make a
computer or any other processor communicate over a
network. A GSM modem require a SIM card to be operated
and operates over a network range subscribed by the
network operator. It can be connected to a computer
through serial, a USB or Bluetooth connection.
A GSM modem can also to be standard GSM mobile phone
with the appropriate cable and software driver to connectto
a serial port a USB port on our computer. GSM modem is
usually preferable to a GSM mobile phone. The GSM modem
has wide range of applications in transaction terminals,
supply chain management, security applications, weather
stations and GPRS mode remote data logging.
D. IR SENSOR
Infrared sensor is an electronic device that emits in order to
sense some aspects of the surroundings. An IR sensor can
measure the heat of an object as well as detects the motion.
These types of sensor measure only infrared radiation,
rather than emitting it that is called as a passive IR sensor.
Usually in the infrared spectrum, alltheobjectsradiatesome
form of thermal radiations. These types of radiations are
invisible to our eyes that can be detected by an infrared
sensor. The emitter is simply an IR LED and the detector is
simply an IR photodiode which is sensitive to IR light of the
same wavelength as that emitted by the IR LED. When IR
light falls on the photodiode, the resistance andtheseoutput
voltages, change in proportion to the magnitude of the IR
light received.
