Wealth and assets are being trans-
ferred to a new generation who have
different needs to their predecessors
where the self service and ‘service
as a utility’ culture is pervasive. Deci-
sion making will be informed by a vast
array of information about the right in-
vestment propositions and journeys.
Consumers will increasingly arrive at
decisions based on the recommen-
dations of their networks and friends
and underpinned by strenghthening
standards for trust and security. A
needs matching culture has emerged
where consumers are quickly con-
necting with the most accurate fit for
their needs. This can be seen in other
services such as ‘Uber’ & ‘Airbnb’.
On a weekly basis the investment
and wealth advice industry announc-
es new service models and provid-
ers, who demonstrate capabilities to
operate in this way.
Disruptive technologies are shaping
these trends, regulatory pressures
have increased cost and complexi-
ty with regulators willing to embrace
the consumer expectation for pricing
transparency and value for money
which is commonplace in other
markets. The established indus-
try is at different levels of maturity in
keeping up and demonstrating rele-
vance to drive better end customer

real client needs and stand the test
of time, no matter what the regulatory
framework or market condition.

Deci- sion making will be informed by a vast array of information about the right in- vestment propositions and journeys. Disruptive technologies are shaping these trends, regulatory pressures have increased cost and complexi- ty with regulators willing to embrace the consumer expectation for pricing transparency and value for money which is commonplace in other markets.
