Traditionally, IT departments have primarily been responsible for sourcing analytical software tools
and carrying out complex data analysis for their organizations. As companies push for improved operational insight, they demand greater amounts of data analysis. As a result, IT departments increasingly find themselves struggling to keep up with the volume of incoming requests. A new set of software tools built specifically to empower data analysts in line-of-business teams offer an important opportunity to address this concern. They provide the benefits of data analysis without placing burdens on the IT department.
An enormous amount of valuable information is out there- waiting to be transformed into mission driving insights. But to excavate those insights, we must first assemble the right data science team.

The Advent of R-BPO: Is the Future of BPO Robotic?HfS Research
The BPO market is being rocked by the onslaught of Robotic Process Automation and Cognitive Intelligence. The future of this $322 billion industry could become distinctly robotic, as software agents are able to replicate (and improve on) the labor arbitrage model, while also delivering higher accuracy and lower risk.
Will today’s current cast of BPO providers be able to survive the transition, and will their clients hang around long enough? Or will Robotic-BPO become the new normal for business services engagements?
In this webinar, we will explore how R-BPO, unburdened by legacy contracts and surplus FTEs, is set to become the new business model for outsourced business services.
HfS experts, along with executives from Symphony Ventures and ADP, will discuss the incredible opportunities and array of options open to enterprises today, as they navigate the multitude of options open to them.
Participants will be better positioned to understand:
- The rationale for bringing automation in house vs. implementing with BPO service providers
- The opportunity to leverage the emerging R-BPO suppliers, rather than renewing with legacy providers
- The potential of combining RPA, AI and human experts in delivering “As a Service” solutions
- What the future will look like as “Digitally Native” businesses emerge and many traditional legacy enterprises struggle to transform their legacy operating models and IT infrastructures

A digital organization has the ability to take all the cool social, mobile and interactive tech we use in our personal lives and create that experience for all the people in its environment: its employees, customers, and partners.
The Digital OneOffice™ Framework is all about creating the digital customer experience and an intelligent, single office to enable and support it. In a few months, we won’t be talking nearly as much about intelligent automation and digital technology as the critical “value levers” for operations, as they become an embedded part of the fabric of the future operations platform for new generation organizations. Instead, we will be talking about an integrated support operation having the digital prowess to enable its organization to meet customer demand - as and when that demand happens.
Everything about the digital organization is about engaging people by responding to their needs instantaneously, giving people their choice of medium to interact with it, be it voice, chat box, text, Facebook messenger, email, virtual agent, etc.
The OneOffice™ Framework is wrapped around the needs of the people in its environment, where automation is completely native and decisions can be made on predicting events, not merely reacting to historical data archives.
Speakers:
- Phil Fersht, CEO and Chief Analyst
- Melissa O'Brien, Research Director for Contact Center and Omnichannel Operations and BPO
We’ll discuss the following:
- Why the Digital OneOffice™ Framework is the Future of Outsourcing
- How the new generation of enterprises are leveraging digital technologies to link the customer experience with the supporting operations
- New dynamics we’re seeing in the market that point to a Digital OneOffice™ future, based on 450 enterprise interviews

Building data and analytics teams is a competitive endeavor yet one executive has found success in rounding out his data team by developing a conglomerate of data specialists. Once core functions are identified, learn how to equip your team for deeper skills and greater growth.
Reflected Intelligence: Real world AI in Digital TransformationTrey Grainger
The goal of most digital transformations is to create competitive advantage by enhancing customer experience and employee success, so giving these stakeholders the ability to find the right information at their moment of need is paramount. Employees and customers increasingly expect an intuitive, interactive experience where they can simply type or speak their questions or keywords into a search box, their intent will be understood, and the best answers and content are then immediately presented.
Providing this compelling experience, however, requires a deep understanding of your content, your unique business domain, and the collective and personalized needs of each of your users. Modern artificial intelligence (AI) approaches are able to continuously learn from both your content and the ongoing stream of user interactions with your applications, and to automatically reflect back that learned intelligence in order to instantly and scalably deliver contextually-relevant answers to employees and customers.
In this talk, we'll discuss how AI is currently being deployed across the Fortune 1000 to accomplish these goals, both in the digital workplace (helping employees more efficiently get answers and make decisions) and in digital commerce (understanding customer intent and connecting them with the best information and products). We'll separate fact from fiction as we break down the hype around AI and show how it is being practically implemented today to power many real-world digital transformations for the next generation of employees and customers.

Levelwise PageRank with Loop-Based Dead End Handling Strategy : SHORT REPORT ...Subhajit Sahu
Abstract — Levelwise PageRank is an alternative method of PageRank computation which decomposes the input graph into a directed acyclic block-graph of strongly connected components, and processes them in topological order, one level at a time. This enables calculation for ranks in a distributed fashion without per-iteration communication, unlike the standard method where all vertices are processed in each iteration. It however comes with a precondition of the absence of dead ends in the input graph. Here, the native non-distributed performance of Levelwise PageRank was compared against Monolithic PageRank on a CPU as well as a GPU. To ensure a fair comparison, Monolithic PageRank was also performed on a graph where vertices were split by components. Results indicate that Levelwise PageRank is about as fast as Monolithic PageRank on the CPU, but quite a bit slower on the GPU. Slowdown on the GPU is likely caused by a large submission of small workloads, and expected to be non-issue when the computation is performed on massive graphs.
