CDC Chamblee Campus Master
Plan
The CDC-Chamblee Campus Master Plan is a
comprehensive site plan that draws its
inspiration from the natural environment of
the site itself. The establishment of an overall
direction for site development within the
master plan was emphasized in the design
process in order to ensure a strong unified
campus identity. The Master Plan addresses
multiple uses, security, development priority,
funding, and facility planning. The challenge
of the master plan process was the knitting of
existing buildings, new construction, both
office and industrial uses, and future
development into a cohesive campus.

NIOSH Pittsburgh Campus-CDC
A comprehensive master plan addressing
current campus needs for the new National
Personal Protective Technology Laboratory as
well as determining a sustainable direction for
the future. The initial stages of the master
plan process included an evaluation of the
Master Plan Drivers Report, an inventory of
existing site and operational conditions and
an assessment of campus needs that included
research, industrial, and warehouse facilities. A
key component of the planning process was
facilitating on-campus workshops and
developing a campus vision and a set of
guiding principles. The outcome of the
process was the development of a master
plan that enhanced perceptions, created an
efficient facilities plan, increased security, and
improved access.

Judaculla Rock Park Master Plan
Judaculla Rock Park contains one of the oldest petroglyphs
in the eastern United States and is one of the most
significant cultural landforms for the Eastern Band of the
Cherokee Indians. The goal of the master plan was to
Restore the natural resources of the site and establish a
management plan. A key component was facilitating
consensus-building workshops with the National Parks
Service, Cherokee Indians, activists, environmentalists,
archeologists, and scientists creating a plan to preserve the
site. The site plan vision contains a strong interest in
preserving the rock by restoring historic stormwater flows
and grades to reduce or eliminate sedimentation deposits
around the rock.
