To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing on behalf of Myranda Tyler. I am a professor of Economics at the
University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point and have had the pleasure of having Myranda as
an advisee and a student over the last several years. Myranda has been an excellent
student and possesses many qualities that would make her an invaluable employee. Her
accomplishments outside of the classroom are equally impressive and reveal a strong
leader who is committed to serving her community.
Myranda has developed strong analytical skills which she ably applied in my Industrial Organization class
last fall. She readily grasped difficult economic concepts and creatively applied them in solving
problems on exams and homework assignments. Myranda also demonstrated an appreciation
of the value of economics in analyzing real world marketing topics like pricing and product
differentiation. Overall, Myranda has excelled in her studies at UW-Stevens Point as evidenced
by earning a GPA of 3.85.
She has shown leadership on the court as team captain of UWSP’s women’s basketball
team. This spring Myranda was named WIAC Co-Scholar Athlete of the Year. In
addition, she has served as a tutor and student peer advisor at UWSP. Myranda also
volunteers for Habitat for Humanity and has led Pointers Pups, a children’s basketball
camp. These extracurricular efforts demonstrate Myranda’s impressive organization and
communication skills.
As her student advisor, I had the opportunity to get know Myranda quite well. Myranda
is an outstanding human being. She possesses a very positive attitude and is the type of
person who looks forward to new challenges. Myranda is a hard worker and will go the
extra mile in accomplishing tasks.
I have been teaching at UWSP for over fourteen years now and Myranda is one of the
most impressive students I have encountered. Her strong work ethic and keen analytical
skills will make her a great addition to your organization.
Please feel free to contact me if you have further inquiries.
Sincerely,
Scott Wallace, Ph.D.
