Moving walkways, also known as travelators or moving sidewalks, are conveyor mechanisms that transport people horizontally or at a slight incline over short to medium distances. They are commonly used in airports, train stations, museums, zoos, theme parks, and public transport systems to help people move efficiently from one point to another. Moving walkways operate similarly to escalators but can run horizontally and at shallower inclines up to 15 degrees. They consist of a flat moving surface made of interlocking metal plates or a rubber belt that rides on a series of rollers powered by an electric motor.
