Wade Godfrey completed a 5K race for his senior project to prove his gym teacher wrong who had said he would never be able to run faster than his 6 minute and 40 second mile time in 6th grade. He trained with a facilitator who was experienced in long distance running and competed in the YMCA Fall Classic 5K race, completing it in 22 minutes and 48 seconds. Through this process, Godfrey discovered strengths like perseverance, but also learned he wants to pursue social work instead of personal fitness training. He plans to attend Albany State University with scholarships and financial aid to obtain a master's degree in social work.
