Plato was an influential ancient Greek philosopher who founded the Academy in Athens, one of the earliest institutions of higher learning. He believed that education should aim to produce good citizens through training in literature, music, and mathematics. For Plato, education had both an individual purpose of moral development and a political purpose of establishing a permanent ruling class. He also advocated for equal education for both men and women. Plato's ideas on education still influence systems today, such as incorporating music, gymnastics, and subjects like geometry into school curriculums.

The integral nature of the human society makes the interaction of one another within the society necessary. Thus, there exist economic, social, religious and political institutions that foster this required integration. The popular John Donne’s phrase that ‘no man is an island’ advocates a complementarity of each other’s capacity for a wholesome society. Aristotle in his Politics asserted that nature intends man to live in a society. “He who is unable to live in society or who has no need because he is sufficient for himself must either be a beast or a god.” It is only in a society therefore that man can develop his potentialities as a human being. The state, which is described as an organized political community, becomes therefore a plat-form for the realization of this natural need for complementarity.

Plato Plato was born in Athens, Greece in the year 427 B.C.E. He was raised in an aristocratic household and groomed for a life in public service. As a young man, Plato became a student of Socrates. Socrates’ passionate pursuit of wisdom left an indelible impression on Plato. He abandoned his family’s political ambitions and devoted his life to the study and practice of philosophy. As a young man, Plato traveled extensively throughout the Mediterranean world. He studied natural philosophy (science), mathematics, religion, and political philosophy among other subjects. In 387, Plato returned to Athens where he founded the Academy, which is thought to be the original template for the modern university. In addition to philosophy, students at the Academy studied science, art, and religion. The goal of Plato’s Academy was to educate the future leaders of Athens. Plato’s arguments about a number of philosophical and political issues are given in his book, The Republic. In it, Plato describes his vision for a just and harmonious society and the role that leisure ought to play in such a society. His treatment of leisure influenced his pupil, Aristotle, who discussed leisure in more depth.
Step 3: Written synthesis paper
Students will synthesize the contributions of their figure. Organize the material from your sources and identify: 1) a snapshot of the time period in which the person lived, and (2) specific examples of what your historic figure did that influenced the PRTM field as we know it today.
Papers should be 2-3 pages (excluding references) in length, 12-point Times New Roman, double spaced,
References (minimum of 5) should be prepared in APA format.

Education is a form of learning in which knowledge and skills are transmitted from one generation to the next through teaching, training , or research . Education often takes place under the guidance of others, but can also be through self-study. [1] Any experience that has a significant influence on the way people think, feel, or act can be considered educational. However, it is impossible to force a person to learn something that they themselves do not need, that is anti-education. Education is often divided into stages such as early childhood education , primary education , secondary education , and higher education
There is no such thing as a typical entrepreneur. Some entrepreneurs are quiet and hard-working, while others are more outgoing and flamboyant. The key to being a successful entrepreneur lies in the ability to take an idea and then, through the process of innovation, develop it in such a way that it becomes a marketable product or service.

Plato on education
Plato he was born on 427 BC in Athens, Greece and he died on 347 BC, Athens, Greece. His
nationality is Greece. His main interests are rhetoric, art, literature, epistemology, justice,
virtue, politics, education, family, and militarism. Plato was a philosopher in classical Greece.
He was also a mathematician, student of Socrates, writer of philosophical dialogues, and
founder of the academy in Athens, the first institution of higher learning in the western world.
Plato is known as one of the earliest thinkers on education. He founded what is said to be the
first university his academy (near Athens) in around 385 BC. Plato’s early works (dialogues)
provide much of what we know of Socrates (470-399BC).
The purpose of education according to Plato, is to produce good citizens for the benefitof
society and to improve the moral quality of each citizen. With proper training focusing on
literature, music, and mathematics a person would become well aware of what is morally
acceptable and what has the potential to ruin society. Plato wanted all citizens to use good
judgment and think philosophically, and only in this fashion, he believed, a strong framework
would be formed. However, Plato’s philosophical education has a definite political function.
It puts a mark on the rulers, and it establishes a barrier between the rulers and the ruled.
Wisdom is acquired largely for the sake of establishing a permanent political class rule. He
believed that the key to a successful society is a strong educational system. He asserted that
true knowledge is intellectual, changeless and eternal, rather than relative and sensory and
that education should be universal and unchanging. Plato believed that women possessed the
sameintellectual abilities just like men; therefore they should receive the same privileges and

responsibilities as men. In his curriculum, children were separated from their parents and live
in state nurseries where they learned positive moral values because he wanted to keep the
existing social class structure unchanged by not allowing prejudices and ignorance pass on
from parents to children.
Nowadays Plato’s education influences education because some of the countries on the
world choose his system to use in their country to develop their education. In my opinion, for
examples such as United States I saw this country choose Plato’s education. In U.S attended
school to study music and gymnastic. Music includes reading, writing, literature, singing,
dancing, geometry, arithmetic, and astronomy. All this points come from Plato’s education.
Plato education it apply in Cambodia because before education system of Cambodia for the
women not allowed to study because they have to look after their house, cook food for their
family, and do housework. For the men they can go to school, but now men and women are
equal women can go to school and get knowledge as the men, women can do everything as
the men do.
In my conclusion, I think that Plato philosopher his idea on education is very important
to get or for us to research and study to improve our life to get successful.
