- 99% of children aged 5-11 in Tamil Nadu go to school, while 4% drop out at the primary level and 11% drop out at the middle school level. An additional 15% drop out after 8th grade. - Vidyarambam Trust was started in 2002 to provide free, enjoyable, quality education to rural children in Tamil Nadu. They have reached over 3264 villages and 620,000 children. - Their goal is to expand to 600 more villages in the next 3 years, reaching 51,000 more students annually with a proven play-based learning model and teacher to student ratio of 1:20.
