The Caregivers Community Network (CCN) provides support services to caregivers of older adults and those with dementia in Harrisonburg and Rockingham County. CCN offers respite care, companion services, telephone support, information and referrals, and helps caregivers maintain independence for both the elder and caregiver. CCN is a program of James Madison University's Institute for Innovation in Health and Human Services and is funded through various sources including United Way, JMU, foundations, grants and private donations. CCN serves over 200 families each year through 34,000 hours of companion care provided by trained student and community volunteers.
