VLE (VIRTUAL LEARNING
ENVIRONMENT)
 VLE or Virtual Learning Environment offers a
simpler and more streamlined mechanism for
the creation and publication of learning
resources.
 A VLE is an online education platform.
 VLE can help teachers and support staff
manage and deliver a variety of daily tasks
including:
I. Organization of general class.
II. The creation of lesson plans.
III. Assessment of students.
IV. Marking of online assignments.
V. Discussion and support with students online.
 A VLE contains many tools to help students learn
their subjects. For eg:
 The teacher can place lesson material on the VLE
in the form of electronic files. The student will then
download and open the file to complete the task.
 Students can upload their homework to the VLE
for teachers to mark .
 The VLE can contains quizzes and tests for the
student to use.
 Contribute to and participate in discussions with
classmates and other schools via the various
tools or students can share work, so they can
work together on a project.
 If they miss a lesson they can still access their
work from home.
 Social media such as Forums and Wikis can be
set up.
DISADVANTAGES
 It can sometimes appear be complicated to use.
 If the internet or network is down, then the VLE
cannot be accessed.
 Proper training to the teachers.
 Although many schools now requires teachers to
place work for their students on the school VLE.
VIRTUAL LABS
 Virtual labs as a simulated interaction
encompassing the contributions of technology,
educational theory and individual human
influences.
 Virtual labs are becoming more accessible to
many students at an unprecedented rate.
 They provide environments in which learners can
demonstrate a transfer of knowledge from
theoretical to practical application.
