The document summarizes the hijrah (migration) of Prophet Muhammad from Mecca to Medina in 3 sentences. It notes that Prophet Muhammad migrated to the city of Yathrib, now known as Medina, which was a diverse city with many tribes and date farms surrounded by hills. The hijrah occurred after disbelievers in Mecca plotted to imprison, kill, or expel Prophet Muhammad as referenced in Quran chapter 8 verse 31. A link is also provided to a movie about Prophet Muhammad.
The document contains several Bible passages about Jesus cleansing the temple because it had become a place of commerce rather than prayer. It also contains passages about the garden of Eden and God placing cherubim to guard it after Adam and Eve were sent out. The document poses two questions asking whether we are a house of prayer and whether the reader is a person of prayer.
In a vision on June 13th, 2015 in Malimbe Tanzania, the Lord showed the author a screen with a library of books and a madman approaching to attack. When the author laid hands on him in Jesus' name, the scales fell from his face and he was healed, appearing as an Englishman. The Lord then opened a door for reaching many nations.
On June 23rd, the Lord spoke about impending judgment touching mountains, hills, and churches in Tanzania for defilement at the altar.
On July 12th, while praying for Israel, the author saw a mighty nuclear weapon, and understood Israel was preparing for war that will occur when the church is raptured, with
They crucified Jesus at a place called Golgotha, also known as Calvary, which means "the skull". Roman soldiers carried out the crucifixion on Jesus, the Son of God and Lord of Glory, in accordance with the will of the Jewish leaders and as a fulfillment of scripture that he would die for the sins of humanity.
The parable describes a king who prepares a wedding banquet for his son. He invites guests but they refuse to come. He sends servants to tell them the banquet is ready, but the guests ignore and mistreat the servants. The king destroys the city of the murderers. He tells servants to invite anyone they find to the banquet. A man comes without wedding clothes and is thrown out into darkness. The parable conveys that many are invited to God's kingdom but few are chosen.
Characters of the Cross: Women at a Distancebamajas
The document discusses the characters of the cross based on Matthew 27:55-56 and 1 Corinthians 1:18. It contrasts the response of "the many" and "the few" to the cross and message of Jesus. The few responded by becoming Christians through baptism, walking in the light, following sound doctrine, and suffering as Christ did. The document encourages the reader to consider whether they are truly following Christ or just watching from afar.
Jesus criticizes the scribes and Pharisees for traveling long distances to convert a single person to their beliefs but teaching them legalistic rules that lead to damnation rather than salvation. He laments that Jerusalem kills prophets and rejects his message of salvation. The passage encourages self-reflection on whether one's drives, focus, and rewards mirror the hypocritical Pharisees or embrace God's love and mercy.

Sure You're Mature's session regarding the Second Coming of Christ_Part 3
Sure You're Mature was a values formation event for the young professionals of today, and was held at Road Side Bible Baptist Church from December 26-29, 2010. The event was attended by different churches.
Two disciples were walking to Emmaus after Jesus' crucifixion, discussing the recent events with sadness. Jesus appeared and walked with them, but they did not recognize him. He explained how the Messiah was prophesied to suffer and enter glory. When they urged him to stay, he broke bread with them and they suddenly recognized him, but he vanished. They hurried back to tell the others they had seen the resurrected Jesus.
This is the second sermon in the post-Easter series 40 days. This sermon focuses on Luke 24:13-35 concerning Jesus appearance to the two disciples on the Road to Emmaus.
Solomon was initially decisive and prayed to God, but later in life he prioritized pragmatism and projects over faith. He made alliances with foreign leaders and took many foreign wives, which replaced his original love for God. While Solomon started well by following his father David's teachings, he began worshipping other gods through the sacrifices and incense offered at pagan places of worship. The document also discusses Solomon as king, priests and prophets during his reign, as well as references to Solomon in the New Testament.
Just one touch from the Lord changes everything. We recount stories of Jesus touching people out of His compassion, and people touching Jesus in faith. Expect His touch on your life.

The document contains a Bible passage from Matthew where Jesus laments over Jerusalem for not accepting his message and condemns the scribes and Pharisees for hypocrisy and preventing others from entering the kingdom of heaven. It also provides context for the term "woe" used by prophets in the Old Testament to warn of coming judgment and call people to change. A timeline of the Old Testament eras is also included.
The document discusses Jesus' entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, roughly 2000 years ago. It describes the events as they are recounted in the Bible, with Jesus riding into Jerusalem on a donkey and the crowds declaring him as the returning king. However, it notes that while Jesus declared himself as king and in charge, he was also vulnerable and his authority was challenged. The document examines what political statement Jesus was making through his actions and how his message confounded expectations by both confronting power and preaching peace. It encourages readers to reflect on how their views of Jesus are shaped and what it means for him to truly be in charge.
Encountering Jesus on the road to Emmaus, and the lesson we can learn from the two disciples' experience. Encouragement to be open in encountering Jesus on our life journey, and a call to get involved in Emmaus Road Life Groups.
The document describes events that occurred on the day of Pentecost. It recounts how the disciples were gathered together when suddenly a sound like a rushing wind filled the house and tongues of fire rested on each person, filling them with the Holy Spirit and enabling them to speak in other languages. A crowd then gathered in bewilderment because each heard the disciples proclaiming the works of God in their own native tongue.
The document lists 10 appearances of Jesus between his resurrection and ascension according to the Gospels. It includes the witnesses for each appearance which includes Mary Magdalene, other women, two disciples on the road to Emmaus, ten apostles, eleven apostles, several apostles, over 500 disciples, James, and the disciples. The second part of the document lists 7 benefits Christians have because of Jesus' resurrection which include eternal life, justification, a compelling mission, comforting hope, future glorification, the savior's abiding presence, and unlimited power. It concludes with a short story about William Booth visiting Mount Calvary.
The document discusses motivating others to reach great destinies and influencing others positively. It describes how Caleb motivated the Israelites to take possession of the promised land, despite other spies spreading fear about its powerful inhabitants. Caleb said they could certainly defeat them with God's help. Similarly, Joshua and Caleb influenced the Israelites to have faith in God and not rebel, saying the land was excellent and God would help them overtake its people. They sought to counter the negative report and encourage the Israelites to believe in God and their destiny instead of being afraid.
God comes to set the world right side up through the birth of Jesus Christ. The passage from Luke describes how Mary and Joseph traveled to Bethlehem for a census, where Mary gave birth to Jesus in a manger because there was no room for them in the inn. An angel appeared to shepherds watching their flocks and announced the birth of the Savior, who would bring peace to those with whom God is pleased.
Jesus performs his first miracle at a wedding in Cana, turning water into wine when they ran out. This sign reveals God's glory through Jesus transcending nature and caring for ordinary people and circumstances. It points to both God's magnificence and immanence in revealing himself through Jesus in the everyday lives and needs of people.

This document discusses how Nehemiah was able to rebuild the wall of Jerusalem in 52 days by being a change-the-world leader. It explains that Nehemiah cared deeply for his people, defined the mission clearly by getting approval from the king to rebuild, made careful plans by getting supplies and support, and inspired the people passionately to start rebuilding immediately. The document encourages the reader to consider what God is leading them to do to make a difference.
The document presents a Bible presentation discussing world events and how they point to Christ's return. It summarizes major world events from 2001 to 2011, including 9/11, the Afghan and Iraq wars, the 2005 London bombings, and the 2010-2011 Arab Spring. The presentation cites Bible passages predicting signs of distress among nations and warns of a coming "time of trouble." However, it promises that at Christ's return, he will establish an eternal kingdom of peace and righteousness on Earth. It invites the audience to accept Christ's promise of his return and to join his kingdom by overcoming sin.
The document discusses Jesus as the Word of God based on biblical passages. It makes three key points:
1) In the beginning, the Word was with God and was God, indicating Jesus' deity as the creator of all things.
2) The Word became flesh in Jesus Christ and dwelt among humanity to reveal God, though he was rejected by the world he created.
3) However, all who receive Jesus by believing in him are given the right to become children of God, born not of human will but of God, showing Jesus offers salvation and new spiritual life to believers.
Jesus feeds a crowd of 5,000 people with just 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish. Though they only had a small amount of food, when Jesus blessed and distributed it, it was enough to feed everyone present and they had leftovers. Later, the disciples are in a boat during a storm and see Jesus walking toward them on water, but are afraid until Jesus reassures them. Peter steps out of the boat and also walks on water, but sinks when he loses faith. Jesus saves him.
The document discusses the power of the Holy Spirit and building a community that lives out God's purposes. It references biblical passages about the Holy Spirit empowering the disciples to be witnesses in Jerusalem and to the ends of the earth. Examples are given of how the Holy Spirit brought power to grow, change, and serve through speaking in tongues, shining as light, compelling testimony, and strengthening conviction and faith.
The document contains a series of numbers and symbols with no clear narrative or meaning. It references biblical passages but does not provide any analysis or context to summarize.
The disciples were gathered together in Jerusalem on the day of Pentecost when suddenly a sound like a rushing wind filled the house and tongues of fire rested on each person's head. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages. A crowd gathered, amazed to hear the disciples praising God in their own native tongues.
Peter addressed the crowd and explained that what they were witnessing was the outpouring of the Holy Spirit promised by the prophet Joel. He proclaimed that God had performed miracles through Jesus, whom the people had crucified, but God had raised Jesus from the dead. Peter declared Jesus as both Lord and Messiah.
Jesus and his disciples were traveling to Jerusalem, with Jesus leading the way. The disciples were astonished by what was happening, and those following were afraid. Jesus took the twelve disciples aside and told them privately what would happen to him in Jerusalem. He said he would be delivered over to the chief priests and teachers of the law, who would condemn him to death and hand him over to the Gentiles to be mocked, spit on, flogged, and killed. However, Jesus also told them that three days later he would rise again.

The gospel of john as viewed by the apostle johnRita Jacobsen
John wrote his Gospel to prove that Jesus is the Son of God so that believers will have eternal life. He describes Jesus performing miracles to build faith, including turning water to wine and feeding 5000 people. John explains that God sent Jesus not to condemn the world but to save it through belief in him. The Gospel highlights Jesus' deity through his teachings and depicts him as the source of love, light and life.
The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the most significant event in the history of mankind with attestations from secular as well as biblical sources. No individual has had as profound a positive influence upon mankind universally as Jesus. Neither has any person risen from the grave, after being dead three days, except Jesus and those identified with Him. Why is He different? What then does His resurrection mean to you? How does the resurrection effect you?
Daniel 70 weeks - A presentation on Daniel's propheciesPrepare Your Ways
The document discusses prophecies from the book of Daniel regarding future visions and the 70 weeks prophecy concerning the coming of the Messiah. It analyzes the prophecy in Daniel 9 which foretells events from the rebuilding of Jerusalem until the Messiah is "cut off." These are dated to have been fulfilled between 445 BC to 32 AD. Other details provided include Jesus' crucifixion occurring on a Wednesday according to Jewish calendar dating. The document then discusses prophecies related to the future rebuilding of the Jewish temple, the rise of the Antichrist, and end times events.
On resurrection Sunday we discuss the great care taken in scripture, particularly by John the author of the gospel and the book of Revelation, to provide legal testimony to the claims that Jesus is the Messiah.
(Genesis 37:1-50:26) A Common Predetermination / A Common Rejection / A Common Humiliation / A Common Injustice / A Common Exaltation / A Common Grace / Mercy / A Common Purpose / -- AUDIO / PPT / KEYNOTE / PDF - 1/22/2017
http://w65stchurchofchrist.org/coc/sermons/2017-sermons.html
The document discusses the sufferings that Christ endured, summarizing them in three parts:
1. Jesus experienced rejection by his nation, hometown, and family and friends. He was ridiculed because of his hometown and parentage.
2. Jesus experienced attacks from his enemies, including Herod wanting to destroy him, his hometown wanting to kill him, and the Jews wanting him dead for various reasons.
3. Jesus experienced the betrayal of a friend, Judas, who betrayed him with a kiss leading to his arrest. The document emphasizes that Jesus responded with love even in the face of such rejection, ridicule, attacks and betrayal.
The document provides an introduction to the biblical book of Exodus. It discusses the book's authorship, which is traditionally attributed to Moses. It was likely written between 1450-1410 BC. The introduction also outlines two views on the date of the Exodus from Egypt, noting evidence supporting an earlier date of around 1445 BC. It concludes by summarizing the key events and themes covered in Exodus, including the deliverance of Israel from Egyptian slavery and the revelation of God through the giving of the Ten Commandments.
The document discusses the resurrection of the dead according to the scriptures and teachings of Paul. It provides biblical evidence for the resurrection from passages that reference Jesus' death and resurrection according to scripture, witnesses to Jesus' appearances after his resurrection, and the idea that Jesus was the "first fruits" of the resurrection with all believers being resurrected after him.
The document discusses the rapture and different views on its timing according to eschatology. It provides background on the rapture, summarizing it as an event where Jesus descends from heaven with a shout and trumpet call to gather believers to meet Him in the air. It then outlines the strengths and weaknesses of pre-tribulationism, mid-tribulationism, and post-tribulationism views on whether the rapture occurs before, at the midpoint of, or after the tribulation period. The document concludes by emphasizing that the exact timing is a mystery known only to God and that believers should focus on being faithful in light of Christ's imminent return.

I. Jesus took Peter, James, and John up a mountain where he was transfigured before them. His face shone brightly and his clothes became white and gleaming. Moses and Elijah appeared and spoke with Jesus.
II. A voice from a cloud proclaimed "This is my Son, whom I have chosen; listen to him." Jesus alone was identified as the leader they should listen to.
III. The transfiguration reinforced that Jesus would suffer and die but ultimately be resurrected, and it highlighted him as the fulfillment of the law and the prophets.
Jesus taught that entering God's kingdom requires desiring it above all else and being willing to endure great difficulties, such as giving up all of one's possessions and loved ones. Those who make these sacrifices will receive eternal life as the ultimate reward.
This document summarizes a passage from the book of John describing Jesus healing a man on the Sabbath. It describes how Jesus heals a man who had been ill for 38 years at the pool of Bethesda. Religious leaders criticize Jesus for violating the Sabbath by commanding the man to carry his mat. The document contrasts the "letter of the law" approach of the religious leaders with Jesus' embodiment of the "spirit of the law" in showing compassion.
At a wedding in Cana, Galilee, Jesus performs his first miracle when called upon by his mother Mary. The wedding hosts had run out of wine for their guests. Jesus instructs the servants to fill large stone jars with water, and then turns the water into wine. The master of ceremonies is surprised by the high quality of the wine, not realizing it was Jesus who provided it. This miracle revealed Jesus' divine glory and his disciples put their faith in him.
The document references John 1:16 which discusses how Jesus Christ, who preceded Moses, provided grace upon grace through his fullness. It notes how Jesus provides endless giving grace according to this verse. It also briefly mentions how the early church practiced generosity, how Methodists sing about generosity, and how emperors railed against generosity.
This document lists several items that will be part of a family carol service for 2019, including astronomical bodies like the universe, moon, sun and Proxima Centauri as well as religious symbols like the cross and empty tomb and a children's character Postman Pat.
The document discusses lessons that can be learned from Mary, Joseph, the shepherds, and the Magi in the Christmas story. It says that Mary teaches that God values the young and women, and can handle questions. Joseph teaches that God values ordinary people and knows faith is difficult. The shepherds teach not to let theology blind us to God's surprises and it takes faith to recognize the king. The Magi teach that the Kingdom is for everyone everywhere and God is greater than expected. The Kingdom of Heaven is described as surprising, nonsensical, and where normal expectations are turned upside down.
Jesus teaches that his return will be like an unexpected event that everyone should be prepared for at all times through faithful service, witnessing to others, and living holy lives. Though the timing is unknown, Christians must persevere and be ready for Christ's glorious and visible return while continuing their witness and service to others.
Nigel White joined us to finish our series "Paul: The Road to Rome" as he arrives at his destination. He spoke from Acts 28:11-31, "Good News in the heart of the Empire"
The document discusses maintaining faith in God's control during difficult times by using wisdom, taking practical steps to care for oneself, focusing on positives, and not being surprised by worsening situations, as one can find peace through keeping faith that Christ is present even in storms.
We took a break from our series on Abraham to celebrate Ability Sunday (a week early!) - it's all about inclusion, especially for those in our community with disabilities. Doug Preston spoke from Psalm 139
God made a covenant with Abram, promising that his descendants would be as numerous as the stars in the sky and the grains of sand. Although Abram had no children at the time, he believed God's promise. God credited Abram's faith as righteousness, expressing his grace rather than Abram's worthiness. The covenant established Abram's right standing with God through faith, foreshadowing the new covenant established by Jesus's blood which invites people to enter into relationship with God by trusting in his promises.
Roberto Troiolo from the Gideons joined us to share about their work and from Acts 19:23-41, "How to cause a riot", continuing our series on "Paul: a man with a mission".

It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375
