This document summarizes a research paper on vehicle recognition using the ViBe background subtraction algorithm and support vector machines (SVM). It first describes using ViBe to extract foreground objects from video surveillance footage of a parking lot. Histogram of oriented gradients (HOG) features are then extracted from regions of interest and used to train an SVM classifier to recognize vehicles. The system was able to accurately detect and recognize multiple vehicles simultaneously with results meeting industrial standards.
A Novel GA-SVM Model For Vehicles And Pedestrial Classification In Videosijtsrd
The paper presents a novel algorithm for object classification in videos based on improved support vector machine (SVM) and genetic algorithm. One of the problems of support vector machine is selection of the appropriate parameters for the kernel. This has affected the accuracy of the SVM over the years. This research aims at optimizing the SVM Radial Basis kernel parameters using the genetic algorithm. Moving object classification is a requirement in smart visual surveillance systems as it allows the system to know the kind of object in the scene and be able to recognize the actions the object can perform. This paper presents an GA-SVM machine learning approach for real time object classification in videos. Radial distance signal features are extracted from the silhouettes of object detected in videos. The radial distance signals features are then normalized and fed into the GA-SVM model. The classification rate of 99.39% is achieved with the genetically trained SVM algorithm while 99.1% classification accuracy is achieved with the normal SVM. A comparison of this classifier with some other classifiers in terms of classification accuracy shows a better performance than other classifiers such as the normal SVM, Artificial neural network (ANN), Genetic Artificial neural network (GANN), K-nearest neighbor (K-NN) and K-Means classifiers. Design and implementation of video tracking system based on camera field of viewsipij
The basic idea of this paper is to design and implement of video tracking system based on Camera Field of
View (CFOV), Otsu’s method was used to detect targets such as vehicles and people. Whereas most
algorithms were spent a lot of time to execute the process, an algorithm was developed to achieve it in a
little time. The histogram projection was used in both directional to detect target from search region,
which is robust to various light conditions in Charge Couple Device (CCD) camera images and saves
computation time.
Our algorithm based on background subtraction, and normalize cross correlation operation from a series
of sequential sub images can estimate the motion vector. Camera field of view (CFOV) was determined and
calibrated to find the relation between real distance and image distance. The system was tested by
measuring the real position of object in the laboratory and compares it with the result of computed one. So
these results are promising to develop the system in future.

A COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF RETRIEVAL TECHNIQUES IN CONTENT BASED IMAGE RETRIEVALcscpconf
Basic group of visual techniques such as color, shape, texture are used in Content Based Image Retrievals (CBIR) to retrieve query image or sub region of image to find similar images in image database. To improve query result, relevance feedback is used many times in CBIR to help user to express their preference and improve query results. In this paper, a new approach for image retrieval is proposed which is based on the features such as Color Histogram, Eigen Values and Match Point. Images from various types of database are first identified by using edge detection techniques .Once the image is identified, then the image is searched in the particular database, then all related images are displayed. This will save the retrieval time. Further to retrieve the precise query image, any of the three techniques are used and comparison is done w.r.t. average retrieval time. Eigen value technique found to be the best as compared with other two techniques.

An Assessment of Image Matching Algorithms in Depth EstimationCSCJournals
Computer vision is often used with mobile robot for feature tracking, landmark sensing, and obstacle detection. Almost all high-end robotics systems are now equipped with pairs of cameras arranged to provide depth perception. In stereo vision application, the disparity between the stereo images allows depth estimation within a scene. Detecting conjugate pair in stereo images is a challenging problem known as the correspondence problem. The goal of this research is to assess the performance of SIFT, MSER, and SURF, the well known matching algorithms, in solving the correspondence problem and then in estimating the depth within the scene. The results of each algorithm are evaluated and presented. The conclusion and recommendations for future works, lead towards the improvement of these powerful algorithms to achieve a higher level of efficiency within the scope of their performance.

Gait Based Person Recognition Using Partial Least Squares Selection Scheme ijcisjournal
The variations of viewing angle and intra-class of human beings have great impact on gait recognition
systems. This work represents an Arbitrary View Transformation Model (AVTM) for recognizing the gait.
Gait energy image (GEI) based gait authentication is effective approach to address the above problem, the
method establishes an AVTM based on principle component analysis (PCA). Feature selection (FS) is
performed using Partial least squares (PLS) method. The comparison of the AVTM PLS method with the
existing methods shows significant advantages in terms of observing angle variation, carrying and attire
changes. Experiments evaluated over CASIA gait database, shows that the proposed method improves the
accuracy of recognition compared to the other existing methods.

Vehicle Tracking Using Kalman Filter and Featuressipij
Vehicle tracking has a wide variety of applications. The image resolution of the video available from most traffic camera system is low. In many cases for tracking multi object, distinguishing them from another isn’t easy because of their similarity. In this paper we describe a method, for tracking multiple objects, where the objects are vehicles. The number of vehicles is unknown and varies. We detect all moving objects, and for tracking of vehicle we use the kalman filter and color feature and distance of it from one frame to the next. So the method can distinguish and tracking all vehicles individually. The proposed algorithm can be applied to multiple moving objects.
We presents a technique for moving objects extraction. There are several different approaches for moving object extraction, clustering is one of object extraction method with a stronger teorical foundation used in many applications. And need high performance in many extraction process of moving object. We compare K-Means and Self-Organizing Map method for extraction moving objects, for performance measurement of moving object extraction by applying MSE and PSNR. According to experimental result that the MSE value of K-Means is smaller than Self-Organizing Map. It is also that PSNR of K-Means is higher than Self-Organizing Map algorithm. The result proves that K-Means is a promising method to cluster pixels in moving objects extraction.
International Journal of Computational Engineering Research (IJCER) is dedicated to protecting personal information and will make every reasonable effort to handle collected information appropriately. All information collected, as well as related requests, will be handled as carefully and efficiently as possible in accordance with IJCER standards for integrity and objectivity.
Leader Follower Formation Control of Ground Vehicles Using Dynamic Pixel Coun...ijma
This paper deals with leader-follower formations of non-holonomic mobile robots, introducing a formation
control strategy based on pixel counts using a commercial grade electro optics camera. Localization of the
leader for motions along line of sight as well as the obliquely inclined directions are considered based on
pixel variation of the images by referencing to two arbitrarily designated positions in the image frames.
Based on an established relationship between the displacement of the camera movement along the viewing
direction and the difference in pixel counts between reference points in the images, the range and the angle
estimate between the follower camera and the leader is calculated. The Inverse Perspective Transform is
used to account for non linear relationship between the height of vehicle in a forward facing image and its
distance from the camera. The formulation is validated with experiments.
IOT SOLUTIONS FOR SMART PARKING- SIGFOX TECHNOLOGYCSEIJJournal
Sigfox technology has emerged as a competitive product in the communication service provider market for
approximately a decade. Widely implemented for smart parking solutions across various European
countries, it has now gained traction in Germany as well. The technology's successful track record and
reputation in the market demonstrate its effectiveness and reliability in addressing the communication
needs of IoT applications, particularly in the context of vehicle parking systems. This is noted in terms of a
city like Berlin-Germany, for on which the study is conducted. The major challenge being on how to relate
the parking techniques in a more user friendly, cost effective and less energy consumpmti0n mode where
the questions had at the beginning of the paper, relatively at the end the answers are sought to it via Sigfox
and its comparison with other related technologies like LoRA WAN and weightless. But more so future
areas of research study is also pointed out on areas which are not clearly identified in this particular
research area.
This paper entails the pros, cons adaptive, emerging and existing technology study in terms of cloud, big
data, Data analytics are all discussed in tandem to Sigfox.
Reliability Improvement with PSP of Web-Based Software ApplicationsCSEIJJournal
In diverse industrial and academic environments, the quality of the software has been evaluated using
different analytic studies. The contribution of the present work is focused on the development of a
methodology in order to improve the evaluation and analysis of the reliability of web-based software
applications. The Personal Software Process (PSP) was introduced in our methodology for improving the
quality of the process and the product. The Evaluation + Improvement (Ei) process is performed in our
methodology to evaluate and improve the quality of the software system. We tested our methodology in a
web-based software system and used statistical modeling theory for the analysis and evaluation of the
reliability. The behavior of the system under ideal conditions was evaluated and compared against the
operation of the system executing under real conditions. The results obtained demonstrated the
effectiveness and applicability of our methodology

We compare K-Means and Self-Organizing Map method for extraction moving objects, for performance measurement of moving object extraction by applying MSE and PSNR. According to experimental result that the MSE value of K-Means is smaller than Self-Organizing Map. It is also that PSNR of K-Means is higher than Self-Organizing Map algorithm. The result proves that K-Means is a promising method to cluster pixels in moving objects extraction.

This paper entails the pros, cons adaptive, emerging and existing technology study in terms of cloud, big
data, Data analytics are all discussed in tandem to Sigfox.

provides a method of integrating student abilities and employer business requirements, which is becoming
an increasingly important concern for academic institutions. Improving student evaluation techniques for
employability can help students to have a better understanding of business organizations and find the right
one for them. The data for the training classification models is gathered through a survey in which students
are asked to fill out a questionnaire in which they may indicate their abilities and academic achievement.
This information may be used to determine their competency in a variety of skill categories, including soft
skills, problem-solving skills and technical abilities and so on.The goal of this research is to use data
mining to predict student employability by considering different factors such as skills that the students have
gained during their diploma level and time duration with respect to the knowledge they have captured
when they expect the placement at the end of graduation. Further during this research most specific skills
with relevant to each job category also was identified. In this research for the prediction of the student
employability different data mining models such as such as KNN, Naive Bayer’s, and Decision Tree were

A Complexity Based Regression Test Selection StrategyCSEIJJournal
Software is unequivocally the foremost and indispensable entity in this technologically driven world.
Therefore quality assurance, and in particular, software testing is a crucial step in the software
development cycle. This paper presents an effective test selection strategy that uses a Spectrum of
Complexity Metrics (SCM). Our aim in this paper is to increase the efficiency of the testing process by
significantly reducing the number of test cases without having a significant drop in test effectiveness. The
strategy makes use of a comprehensive taxonomy of complexity metrics based on the product level (class,
method, statement) and its characteristics. We use a series of experiments based on three applications with
a significant number of mutants to demonstrate the effectiveness of our selection strategy. For further
evaluation, we compareour approach to boundary value analysis. The results show the capability of our
approach to detect mutants as well as the seeded errors.
XML Encryption and Signature for Securing Web ServicesCSEIJJournal
In this research, we have focused on the most challenging issue that Web Services face, i.e. how to secure
their information. Web Services security could be guaranteed by employing security standards, which is the
main focus of this search. Every suggested model related to security design should put in the account the
securities' objectives; integrity, confidentiality, non- repudiation, authentication, and authorization. The
proposed model describes SOAP messages and the way to secure their contents. Due to the reason that
SOAP message is the core of the exchanging information in Web Services, this research has developed a
security model needed to ensure e-business security. The essence of our model depends on XML encryption
and XML signature to encrypt and sign SOAP message. The proposed model looks forward to achieve a
high speed of transaction and a strong level of security without jeopardizing the performance of
transmission information.
Performance Comparison of PCA,DWT-PCA And LWT-PCA for Face Image RetrievalCSEIJJournal
This paper compares the performance of face image retrieval system based on discrete wavelet transforms
and Lifting wavelet transforms with principal component analysis (PCA). These techniques are
implemented and their performances are investigated using frontal facial images from the ORL database.
The Discrete Wavelet Transform is effective in representing image features and is suitable in Face image
retrieval, it still encounters problems especially in implementation; e.g. Floating point operation and
decomposition speed. We use the advantages of lifting scheme, a spatial approach for constructing wavelet
filters, which provides feasible alternative for problems facing its classical counterpart. Lifting scheme has
such intriguing properties as convenient construction, simple structure, integer-to-integer transform, low
computational complexity as well as flexible adaptivity, revealing its potentials in Face image retrieval.
Comparing to PCA and DWT with PCA, Lifting wavelet transform with PCA gives less computation and
DWT-PCA gives high retrieval rate..

Reconfiguration Strategies for Online Hardware Multitasking in Embedded SystemsCSEIJJournal
An intensive use of reconfigurable hardware is expected in future embedded systems. This means that the
system has to decide which tasks are more suitable for hardware execution. In order to make an efficient
use of the FPGA it is convenient to choose one that allows hardware multitasking, which is implemented by
using partial dynamic reconfiguration. One of the challenges for hardware multitasking in embedded
systems is the online management of the only reconfiguration port of present FPGA devices. This paper
presents different online reconfiguration scheduling strategies which assign the reconfiguration interface
resource using different criteria: workload distribution or task’ deadline. The online scheduling strategies
presented take efficient and fast decisions based on the information available at each moment. Experiments
have been made in order to analyze the performance and convenience of these reconfiguration strategies.
Performance Comparison and Analysis of Mobile Ad Hoc Routing ProtocolsCSEIJJournal
A mobile ad hoc network (MANET) is a wireless network that uses multi-hop peer-to-peer routing instead
of static network infrastructure to provide network connectivity. MANETs have applications in rapidly
deployed and dynamic military and civilian systems. The network topology in a MANET usually changes
with time. Therefore, there are new challenges for routing protocols in MANETs since traditional routing
protocols may not be suitable for MANETs. Researchers are designing new MANET routing protocols
and comparing and improving existing MANET routing protocols before any routing protocols are
standardized using simulations. However, the simulation results from different research groups are not
consistent with each other. This is because of a lack of consistency in MANET routing protocol models
and application environments, including networking and user traffic profiles. Therefore, the simulation
scenarios are not equitable for all protocols and conclusions cannot be generalized. Furthermore, it is
difficult for one to choose a proper routing protocol for a given MANET application. According to the
aforementioned issues, this paper focuses on MANET routing protocols. Specifically, my contribution
includes the characterization of different routing protocols and compare and analyze the performance of
different routing protocols.
Adaptive Stabilization and Synchronization of Hyperchaotic QI SystemCSEIJJournal
The hyperchaotic Qi system (Chen, Yang, Qi and Yuan, 2007) is one of the important models of four-
dimensional hyperchaotic systems. This paper investigates the adaptive stabilization and synchronization
of hyperchaotic Qi system with unknown parameters. First, adaptive control laws are designed to
stabilize the hyperchaotic Qi system to its equilibrium point at the origin based on the adaptive control
theory and Lyapunov stability theory. Then adaptive control laws are derived to achieve global chaos
synchronization of identical hyperchaotic Qi systems with unknown parameters. Numerical simulations
are shown to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed adaptive stabilization and synchronization

An Energy Efficient Data Secrecy Scheme For Wireless Body Sensor NetworksCSEIJJournal
Data secrecy is one of the key concerns for wireless body sensor networks (WBSNs). Usually, a data
secrecy scheme should accomplish two tasks: key establishment and encryption. WBSNs generally face
more serious limitations than general wireless networks in terms of energy supply. To address this, in this
paper, we propose an energy efficient data secrecy scheme for WBSNs. On one hand, the proposed key
establishment protocol integrates node IDs, seed value and nonce seamlessly for security, then
establishes a session key between two nodes based on one-way hash algorithm SHA-1. On the other hand,
a low-complexity threshold selective encryption technology is proposed. Also, we design a security
selection patter exchange method with low-complexity for the threshold selection encryption. Then, we
evaluate the energy consumption of the proposed scheme. Our scheme shows the great advantage over
the other existing schemes in terms of low energy consumption.
To improve the QoS in MANETs through analysis between reactive and proactive ...CSEIJJournal
A Mobile Ad hoc NETwork (MANET), is a self-configuring infra structure less network of mobile devices
connected by wireless links. ad hoc is Latin and means "for this purpose". Each device in a MANET is free
to move independently in any direction, and will therefore change its links to other devices frequently. Each
must forward traffic unrelated to its own use, and therefore be a router. The primary challenge in building
a MANET is equipping each device to continuously maintain the information required to properly route
traffic. QOS is defined as a set of service requirements to be met by the network while transporting a
packet stream from source to destination. Intrinsic to the notion of QOS is an agreement or a guarantee by
the network to provide a set of measurable pre-specified service attributes to the user in terms of delay,
jitter, available bandwidth, packet loss, and so on. The analysis is mainly between proactive or table-driven
protocols like OLSR (Optimized Link State Routing) viz DSDV (Destination Sequenced Distance Vector) &
CGSR (Cluster Head Gateway Switch Routing) and reactive or source initiated routing protocols viz
AODV (Ad hoc on Demand distance Vector) & DSR (Dynamic Source Routing). The QoS analysis of the
above said protocols is simulated on NS2 and results are shown thereby.

Courier management system project report.pdfKamal Acharya
It is now-a-days very important for the people to send or receive articles like imported furniture, electronic items, gifts, business goods and the like. People depend vastly on different transport systems which mostly use the manual way of receiving and delivering the articles. There is no way to track the articles till they are received and there is no way to let the customer know what happened in transit, once he booked some articles. In such a situation, we need a system which completely computerizes the cargo activities including time to time tracking of the articles sent. This need is fulfilled by Courier Management System software which is online software for the cargo management people that enables them to receive the goods from a source and send them to a required destination and track their status from time to time.

1. INTRODUCTION
With the development of the city, more and more people have their own vehicles. Meanwhile, the
speed of parking lot construction cannot compare with the rate of car growth. So there was a
contradiction between people and between the supply and demand of parking. In order to build
smart city and facilitate people’s lives, we have to solve this problem[1].
Now in many cities have been building many parking lots which have a very high level of
automation, and can remind divers how many free parking locations when they entered the parking
lots. Even some of the higher-end parking lot offers Apps, and divers can book theirs parking space
online. But for those who do not plan well site, monitoring of vehicles are very loose, or in a state of
lack of supervision.[2] There is no doubt that this situation will give some unpleasant feelings.
Therefore, in order to better build smart cities, planning and management of outdoor parking lots is
necessary.
This paper introduces how to tell the moving vehicles from parking lot surveillance video. Using
ViBe background modeling method for moving target detection to identify moving objects. This

system uses SVM method determines whether the object is a vehicle, and judge the state of motion
of the vehicle, and then updates the information of parking spaces.
2.BACKGROUND SUBTRACTION ALGORITHMS
Locating moving objects in a video sequence is the first step of many computer vision
applications. Many background subtraction techniques have been proposed with as many models
and segmentation strategies, and several surveys are devoted to this topic. This system uses ViBe
method detecting moving foreground objects
2.1 Brief introduction of VIBE
Background differencing is the commonly used method for the detection of moving objects in the
static background, and the ViBe algorithm is the main modeling approach. our proposed technique
stores, for each pixel, a set of values taken in the past at the same location or in the neighborhood. It
then compares this setting for the current pixel value to determine if the pixel belongs to the
background, and adapts to the model of a random selection of values instead of from the
background model. This method is different from those based on the oldest values of the classical
belief should be replaced first.
Finally, if the pixel is one part of the background, then its value will be propagated into the
background model and update the model after judgement.
ViBe algorithm using neighboring pixels in the color space determine the current pixel is the
foreground pixels or background pixels, and it establishes a background pixel samples for each
pixel value space, and save the pixel and its neighboring pixels in the sample space recent
background pixel values. The current pixel-by-pixel with the pixel values of the background
models with the most similar comparison, value as long as the current pixel-by-pixel with the
background part of the pixel values in the model, determine the background pixels pixel, pixel
background model can be expressed as
= , , . . . , (1)
In this paper, we denote by v(x) the value in a given Euclidean color space taken by the pixel
located at x in the image, and by a background sample value with an index i. Each background
pixel x is modeled by a collection of N background sample values.[3]
VIBE initialization algorithms use the first frame image background model for every sample value
of the background pixels in the sample space from the pixel and its neighboring pixels, selects a
random pixel values to initialize. Each pixel has the same probability of being chosen. The model
can be expressed as

y is one pixel selected in the neighborhood of x randomly, and is the collection of
neighborhoods. v(y) pixel values may appear more than once in the background model.
ViBe algorithm starts to detect foreground objects from second frame. In order to classify a pixel
value v(x) on the basis of its corresponding model M(x), we compare it to the closest values within
the set of samples by defining a sphere of radius R centered on v(x)[3].If thegiven
threshold ♯min is less than thecount of the set junction of sphere and the collection of model
samples M(x), the pixel value v(x) will be classified as background. More formally, we compare
♯min to
♯ ∩ , , . . . , (3)
If M(x) is larger than ♯min, the pixel x is background pixel, otherwise x is foreground pixel [4]. We
can learn that directly from this figure.
Fig.1. Comparison of a pixel value with a set of samples in a two dimensional Euclidean color space (C1,C2).
To classify v(x), we count the number of samples of M(x) interesting the sphere of radius R centered on v(x).
2.2 Experimental Results
For the experiments , the proposed method was implemented using C++ with OpenCV library. In
this experiment, we set the radius R of the sphere used to compare a new pixel value to pixel
samples, the time subsampling factor Φ,the number N of samples stored in each pixel model, and
the number ♯min of close pixel samples needed to classify a new pixel value as background. In our
experience , we set radius R = 20, and time subsampling factor Φ=16,N=20,and set ♯min=20.

3.1 Briefintroduction of SVM
SVMs are primarily two-class classifiers that have been proved thatit is an effective and more
robust method to handle linear or non-linear decision boundaries [5] [6] . SVM will find the

processing todetect object. Through calculations and statistical characteristics of gradient
orientation histogram of image local area to form. Hog combination of SVM classifiers have been
widely used in image recognition, especially in the detection of pedestrians has a great
performance. In practice, the orientation range is divided into + bins, and each pixel in the region
votes for its corresponding bin.
3.3 Experimental Results
Framework of the vehicle recognition as shown in the figure: including learning and testing phases.
During the learning phase, mainly is the integration of collected data, get these features, then
entered into a learning classifier, to generate the target classifier. After entering the testing phase,
you need to use the classification obtained in the previous step, by comparing the scan window and
then click the input image, is judged to be identified in accordance with the classifier of the small
area [7][8].

In this section, the HOG feature of foreground objects will be sent to SVM. Every window will be
tested and predicted by SVM. The SVM will output “-1” or ”1”. The”1” presents the vehicle,”-1”
presents non-vehicle. This information will show in a new window.

4. CONCLUSION
We have considered the problem of vehicle detection from video surveillance of parking lots. The
HOG can describe vehicle information, handle within-class variations, and global illumination
insensitive to changes in.
The first part of the study is devoted to the analysis of the performance of ViBe for foreground
objects detection. SVM based on HOG features is shown to achieve the good results. However, the
outcome of the study shows that, results with high accuracy, but the efficiency problem happens in
certain situations. The outcome of experiments reveals that SVM can work well in normal
situation, but in some extreme situationssuch as tInclement weather, the effectofrecognition of a
little bad.In order to enhance the robustness and accuracy of the system, we plan to integrate other
features (for example, LBP feature), and use optical flow method to optimizethe moving object
detection and background modelling.
