This document discusses using agent-based modeling and neural networks for web analytics in e-learning. It proposes a hybrid agent-based model with embedded artificial neural networks to simulate the production and dissemination of knowledge among three agent types (authors, tutors, and students) in online courses. The model aims to assess knowledge trends and is implemented using the AnyLogic software package for a case study at a Ukrainian higher education institution. Agent-based modeling and neural networks are described as effective tools for developing learning analytics to understand knowledge flow between e-learning participants.
