3. When I go on vacation, first I have to pack a suitcase with
my clothes, shoes, and toothbrush.
4. Sometimes I bring a few of my favorite toys.
Sometimes when I go on vacation we go far away.
5. When we go far away sometimes we fly in an airplane.
Airplanes can be very loud, but when I wear ear plugs or
ear phones my ears don’t hurt. It is fun to look out the
windows to see the clouds and the water below.
6. Sometimes when I go on vacation, my family drives in a
car for a long time. My family makes regular stops so we
can stretch our legs, use the bathroom, and get a snack.
I like to bring games and toys in the car to help the time
go by. One game that I like to play with my family is “I
Spy”.
7. Sometimes when I go on vacation I ride in a train. Trains
can feel shaky when they go over train tracks so I take
my favorite toy with me to feel better. I also like to walk
up and down the aisles to look out the windows.
Sometimes trains go by water, through mountains, and
through the woods.
8. Sometimes when I go on vacation my family rides on a
cruise ship. Cruise ships can feel bumpy at times if there
are waves in the ocean. Sometimes the ship stops at a
dock and I can get off to look around the town. When
the cruise ship is ready to leave the driver blows a horn.
9. When I go on vacation sometimes I sleep in a bed or on a
couch that turns into a bed. Sometimes the bed feels
different from my bed at home. If I have room in my
suitcase I bring my own small blanket or pillow to help
me feel comfortable like in my bed at home.
10. When I am on vacation I eat at many restaurants. My
family and I like to try new foods. If the food looks
different I can smell it or touch it to see if I want to taste
it.
If don’t like the food, I am expected to keep the food on
my plate and eat something I do like. It is expected that I
wait for my family to finish eating before I get up.
11. One thing that helps me practice my handwriting when I
am on vacation is writing in a journal. I like to write about
all the adventures my family goes on so I can read it
when I get home and remember exactly what we did and
what I liked the best!
12. When I go on vacation, I am usually allowed to find one
or two souvenirs to bring home with me. These are
special things that remind me of the vacation when I get
home. Sometimes I like to buy T-shirts with a picture of
the place we visited, and sometimes I like to buy a small
toy that has a special meaning to the place we visited.
13. Some vacations are short and some are long. I like going
on vacation and spending time with my family and
friends. It is fun to see new places, try new activities, and
new foods! When I get home, sometimes I think about
where we should go on our next vacation! It’s fun to go
on vacation!
