Product + UX: How to combine strengths to make something truly great!Jeremy Johnson
With modern organizations finally starting to embrace User Experience as part of their product teams, and product leaders moving to more strategic roles within these teams, how can we combine the strengths of both roles to make something truly great?

Design is inclusive by nature. The ability to understand people, their needs, and emotions throughout a journey is what User Experience Designers excel at! That said, many organizations still need that nudge to really get out build true empathy for the people they’re building tools, systems, and apps for. This talk will help you ramp up with modern best practices in insights gathering, while helping you build the case to invest in user understanding through showcasing the value to both your business and your brand.
UX is often misunderstood - or worse, it's seen as another ambiguous buzzword. Teaching others the value of UX can be a frustrating/challenging/lonely journey. I'll share some of the experiences I've faced when posed with the challenge of building buy-in and how to help shift company attitudes and culture towards UX.

[UX Conf BR 2019] Indo audaciosamente onde nenhum outro designer esteve: A tr...Rafael Burity

Rafael Burity
Rafael Burity

In today's digital era, the dynamics of brand perception, consumer behavior, and profitability have been profoundly reshaped by the synergy of branding, social media, and website design. This research paper investigates the transformative power of these elements in influencing how individuals perceive brands and products and how this transformation can be harnessed to drive sales and profitability for businesses.
Through an exploration of brand psychology and consumer behavior, this study sheds light on the intricate ways in which effective branding strategies, strategic social media engagement, and user-centric website design contribute to altering consumers' perceptions. We delve into the principles that underlie successful brand transformations, examining how visual identity, messaging, and storytelling can captivate and resonate with target audiences.
Methodologically, this research employs a comprehensive approach, combining qualitative and quantitative analyses. Real-world case studies illustrate the impact of branding, social media campaigns, and website redesigns on consumer perception, sales figures, and profitability. We assess the various metrics, including brand awareness, customer engagement, conversion rates, and revenue growth, to measure the effectiveness of these strategies.
The results underscore the pivotal role of cohesive branding, social media influence, and website usability in shaping positive brand perceptions, influencing consumer decisions, and ultimately bolstering sales and profitability. This paper provides actionable insights and strategic recommendations for businesses seeking to leverage branding, social media, and website design as potent tools to enhance their market position and financial success.

4. As a result, hiring skilled UX designers is
a top priority among businesses.
In fact, UX designers are being recruited
as heavily as software engineers.
Jeff Bezos invested 100 times more
into customer experience than advertising
during the first year of Amazon.
According to CNNMoney/PayScale’s
top 100 careers with big growth, great pay and
satisfying work (i.e. 100 Best Jobs in America),
UX design ranked #14 with top pay hitting
$138K and a growth rate of 18%.”
Forester Research shows that,
on average, every dollar invested in
UX brings 100 dollars in return.
That’s an ROI of a whopping 9,900 percent.
AirBnB’s Mike Gebbia credits UX with taking
the company to $10 billion.
6. The global market for design services reached
a value of nearly $153.2 billion in 2018, having
grown at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR)
of 11.6% since 2014, and is expected to grow at a
CAGR of 13% to nearly $249.5 billion by 2022.
As a result of increasing internet penetration
and smartphone users, online content marketing
campaigns are expected to be three times more
effective and cost 62% lesser than traditional
campaigns.
Multiple software categories used in
design will grow more than 20% this year.
The number of designers is probably
going to grow even faster.
Our recent global survey of design teams
found that half expected to grow in 2021 and
one-third expected to grow by more than 25%.

7. Adobe set out to uncover the latest hiring trends in UX design
and the results point to one big conclusion:
‘UX designers’ are now as in demand as software engineers, and
that demand is only going to increase.
Eighty-seven percent of managers said hiring more UX designers
is the top priority for their organization:
higher than graphic designers (76%) and product managers (74%),
and tied with software engineers for top spot.
UX design is slated for more growth: 73% of managers said they
plan to double the number of UX designers in their organization
in the next five years.
There are anywhere between 8,000–24,000 UI/UX design job
openings worldwide today. As of August 2020, there were 2,347 UX
designer jobs posted on LinkedIn alone.
Moreover, businesses are being forced to invest more into their UX
in order to maintain a competitive edge in today’s tech-heavy
market. In some places, the need for UX design team members is
higher than the number of designers available. This gap is keeping
UX designers in high demand across the globe.

15. Startup x traditional
A startup company is a newly formed business
with particular momentum behind it based on
perceived demand for its product or service.
The intention of a startup is to grow rapidly
as a result of offering something that
addresses a particular market gap.
A traditional business is a tried and tested
conventional way of selling/producing goods or
providing services, i.e. manufacturing, trading,
brokerage, services etc. All business involves
risk, because of which the entrepreneur has
the ability to earn supernormal profits.
