The Three-Generation Golf Academy (TGGA) sponsored their second Family Fun Golf Tournament on Sunday November 27, 2011. The event was hosted at the Golf Avenue-Sansai Par 3 golf course. A clear November blue-skied morning welcomed 12 enthusiastic young golfers and their caddies (aka parents) providing the perfect backdrop for a day of fun.
The Golf Avenue-Sansai golf course in Chiang Mai, Thailand is a Par 3 course with a variety of water holes, bunker play, and rolling terrain providing excitement for junior golfers of all skill levels. It is open to the public offering affordable green fees and rental trolleys for families to comfortably learn the “feel” of the game.
“The idea was to have a tournament geared towards the very young golfer with parents participating as caddies. The rules are very relaxed so the kids can just hit the ball and have fun,” says TGGA Director Spike Collier. It was a family oriented event opened to both TGGA students from PTIS International School and the public for the purpose of benefiting golfers new to the game and enhancing international relationships.

Benefit to the University: Today's veterans face numerous obstacles in their path of attaining a college degree. These challenges range from a missing sense of camaraderie to feeling like an outsider amongst 18 year old traditional students to a lack of understanding by university faculty. When coupled with the visible and invisible wounds of war, a college degree can be an elusive goal for men and women returning from military service. Student Veterans Organization makes that goal a reality.
SVA is a 501(c)(3) coalition of student veterans groups on college campuses across the globe. These member chapters are the "boots on the ground” that help veterans reintegrate into campus life and succeed academically. Each chapter must be an officially recognized student group by their university or college and provide a peer-to-peer network for veterans who are attending the school. Additionally, chapters often coordinate campus activities, provide pre-professional networking, and generally provide a touchstone for student veterans in higher education. • The USO Is the United Service Organization.
• They provide programs, services, and live
entertainment for soldiers.
• They are a non-profit organization.
3. Tournament Details
• The tournament will be held on May 25th,
2015, beginning at 10 AM and ending at 7 PM.
• This day is Memorial Day, and it falls into our
beliefs of helping the soldiers and their
families, so we want to honor them and this
day.
4. Course Selection
• The event is going to be held at the Four Seasons
Resort and Club Dallas at Las Colinas, which is in
Irving, Texas.
• 350 people can attend, making it around $21,000.
• The contact for this course is Jennifer Owen.
• This is a good location because the course is very
prestigious and known, and the home of the
Byron Nelson. It is also located very close to the
airport, making it easier for celebrities to fly in
from other cities.
5. Target Market
• Our target market would be the upper
middle-higher class and those who have ties
to the military. Many of the people we want
to target live in the DFW area. Psychologically,
the we want those whose interests have
something to do with the armed forces,
whether it be past, present, or future.

magazine, but usually around there)

10. Catering
• We will be expecting around 350 people for
our event. Dickey’s BBQ will cater our golf
tournament. They will be serving traditional
meats with BBQ Sauce and other
commodities, such as french fries and potato
salad. It will cost $6.50 per person, and the
total cost will be around $2000.
11. Staff
• Volunteers from the Dallas Area High schools
will help work the event.
• Each job will require at least 4 people per
station.
• Volunteers will be paid through community
service hours.
• $0, the workers are all volunteers.

• Our 3 sponsors will be AT&T, Coca Cola, and
Jeep, donating products such as money to the
troops, drinks, and Wi-Fi for the events.

through booths and other informatory ways,

are already cooperate sponsors of the charity
and have donated plenty to the cause before and
will not be afraid to donate more.
13. The Day Planned Out
• Aside from golf, there will be foods to eat, silent auctions, local entertainment from local
bands and other mini game activities, creating a mini carnival of some sort.

14. Scoring
• The players will be scored based off normal
golfing rules, which means the lowest score
will win the event.
• 1st-5th will all be placed.

• Sponsors Jeep, Coke, and AT&T will pay for
the donations.
• 1st place gets $10,000.
• 2nd place gets $5,000.
• 3rd place gets $2,500.
• 4th place gets $500 and military apparel.
• 5th place gets $250 and military apparel.
16. Award Presentation
• I will get Jason Witten to do the award
ceremony. He will mention the sponsors and
a little something about each, and then talk
about the USO and what it funds and helps.
17. Media Coverage
• We will contact WFAA, a local ABC station,
NBC 5, and a local photographer to cover the
event.
• Our desired outcome is to increase the
amount coverage for the USO, and gain more
support for the company.
