BLOGGING IN CLASSROOM
 According to The Indira Gandhi National
Open University, “a blog is a personal website
that contains content organized like a journal
or a diary. Each entry is dated, and the entries
are displayed on the web page in reverse
chronological order, so that the most recent
entry is posted at the top. Readers catch up
with blogs by starting at the top and reading
down until they encounter material they’re
already read.”(IGNOU, 2009).
Suzie Vesper - CORE Education,2013
WHY DO WE USE BLOGS?
 We use blogs in education because they
guarntee that it will be communication
between teacher and students during all times.
Bortree (cited in blogspots, 2009) stated that
blogs give students ownership over their own
learning and an authentic voice, allowing them
to articulate their needs and inform their own
learning. Blogs have been shown to contribute
to identity-formation in students.
 As I think we can use blogs as a tool when we find
that students were fed up of learning. Using blogs is
a kind of creativity and at the same time is a tool of
fun.
 Blogs are tools, and like any tools they can be used
or misused.
 Students have a larger audience when they blog. If
the blog is public, they are potentially writing for a
global audience. This knowledge may empower
them and their work.

USING BLOGS IN TEACHING LANGUAGES
 “materials designed to be used in addition to
the core materials of the course are usually
related to the development of the skills of
reading , writing , listening or speaking rather
than to the learning of the language items, but
also include dictionaries, grammar books and
workbooks.”(Brain Tomlinson,2011)
USING BLOGS IN TEACHING MATHS
 Using Blogs in teaching Math is very exciting
“I am so excited to incorporate writing in my
math class during the new semester. My goal is
to have students use blogging as an
instructional tool to write and express their
mathematical ideas. I hope to provide them
with an opportunity to reflect on their
understanding of mathematics.”( Felecia
Young,2013)
USING BLOGS IN TEACHING SCIENCE
 Also teaching science can integrate
with blogs as the teacher can
communicate with his students
through the blogs and he can teach
using story telling through it.
 "scientists must increasingly engage
with blogs and social media... Even if
you choose not to blog, you can
certainly expect your papers and
ideas will increasingly be blogged
about. So there it is – blog or be
blogged.“ (Paul Knoepfler, 2013)
BLOGS AND EXAMS
 I want to ask a question about blogs and
exams.”How to blog during exams?”
 Writing posts in advance is always the smart
move to manage your blog during exams.
 No matter how busy you’re during exams, spend
1 to 2 hrs to write blog posts. I think this is not a
big deal, agree? Because we all know, no one will
read 24/7 during exams.
 Spend 5 to 10 minutes everyday on writing
headlines.
 Always write headlines first, and subheads
next and store them either in notepad or in a
paper. This way when you find time to write,
you can simply fill up the sub heads and finish
the posts.
 I generally use WordPress drafts whenever I
come up with new blog headlines, I’ll fill them
up whenever I find time.
 This way you can always have emergency
posts to blog during exams. Emergency
