2. Wiki’s I love my Wiki! I can’t wait to be able to incorporate it with my school web page. I was also happy because I took the previous class and already had my wiki page up. Jazzing it up was all I had to do. I love how all of these classes build upon each other. This is a perfect example of scaffolding and transference of knowledge. Using it in the classroom with students to collaborate on projects or writing assignments would be the ideal use of my Wiki. I had fun playing with the settings, adding a background and picture for my profile. I like how I was able to put all of my information on one page with links for parents or students. The links were the ones I learned in the previous class: delicious, twitter, etc. My means of communication with the world just keeps on increasing! This project was fun and user friendly! I even know how to upload a link to my page!

3. RSS FEEDS! This took me a while to figure out. I used “bloglines.” At first I thought it had to be all educational RSS feeds that I subscribe to. I really wanted to make it a valuable resource. I didn’t understand the widgets, until I kept playing with it. The more I played the easier it became and now I feel like a pro. I not only have educational feeds but I have everyday helpful tools that I have subscribed to. There were two hurdles that I had to overcome. One was how do I do this, and once I knew how to do it the second thing that went through my mind is “why am I doing this and what is all of this stuff that I am now getting on my page?” A discussion with friends, the other 2 C’s, helped me see that I was doing everything correctly and that this was a direct route to updated information. Instead of getting online and searching once I subscribe the information comes right to me, FABULOUS! What a time saver!

4. Blogs! Clueless, is what came to mind. Before this class I didn’t know what a blog was, how to use it, or it’s purpose in the technology world. Now, I have a whole new outlook. Blogs are a great differentiation tool for students. I would love to be able to blog with my students in and out of the classroom. Now that summer is coming what a great way to keep in contact and check up on summer reading and projects ( I know what a mean teacher). I think it will lure the kids in because it is of high interest to them and I wouldn’t be surprised if they already know how to do it. I think it is a great platform to express themselves or share their point of view. Especially for those kids who don’t normally participate in classroom discussions due to shyness, fear, etc. I think it could be a breakthrough tool for children with disabilities or learning needs, what a great way to level the playing field. Options, options, options!

5. Web Publishing Tools I have learned to use so many publishing tools through these courses. My favorite is “Glogster.” I love that I can use it(and pretty much all of these tools) for personal and professional use. I would like to know how to put this on my Wiki page????? I love making glogster posters. They are fun and inspire creativity with projects. Although they are user friendly, it often takes me a while because I am so picky with backgrounds, wall colors, text bubbles, graphics, I can go on and on. I also have used Animoto for video slide show, Kodak photo album, and voice thread. Not to mention my published “youtube” video. I didn’t realize that all of these things were publishing tools until I tried it for myself. Again, love using what I have already done or know to complete new projects! I would really liked to learn how to add my glogster to my wiki page?????

6. Not to bad! Considering that I didn’t harass Rich to much in this course, I am feeling very accomplished! I have learned how to “blog” and see its importance in the classroom. I now understand what that little orange button that reads RSS means on web pages and how to subscribe to them and add them to my bloglines. I was able to go back to previous projects and build from them. I always fall down, but I pick myself right back up and get on track. I love moodle learning! I couldn’t see myself taking classes any other way. In real estate there motto is “location, location, location.” Well for technology I have learned it is “options, options, options.” With all these options the ways to use them are limitless!
