The edge finder is a precision positioning tool that will locate the edge of the work in
relation to centre of the spindle to within 0.0002"(0.005 mm) accuracy.
A) With spindle rotating and with edge finder tip as shown,
slowly feed tip of tool against work.
B) The edge finder tip will gradually become centered with its shank.
C) When the tip becomes exactly centered, it will abruptly jump sideways.
When this occurs, stop table movement immediately and press ZERO on the digital read out.
Then raise the spindle and move over half of the diameter of the tip of the edge finder and press
ZERO again on the digital readout.
