2. Introduction
• The Covid-19 Pandemic has influenced every sphere of society like the economy,
culture, politics, etc.
• The field of higher education is very much affected by the crisis of the Covid-19
Pandemic.
• During this time, technology was a potent weapon to tackle that critical situation.
• This Pandemic forced us to learn various things concerning the skills of technology in
the field of education.
3. Introduction
• Teaching-learning process shifted to online mode.
• We adopted Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google meet or other online platforms
undoubtedly;
• These platforms are significantly contributing to the transformation of the mode of
imparting education (Dhoot & Thakre, 2020).
4. Uses of Digital Technologies in Higher Education during Covid-19
• Newly produced video conferencing software such as, Google Meet, Zoom Meeting popularly
used. And also smartphones, laptops, tablets were used

OER, Asynchronous e-learning by e-study materials.
Encouraging personalised learning (Jena,2020).
New Study channel created.
Free e-learning courses by Moocs (Iqbal & Tanty, 2021).
Creativity of lecturers in teaching improved (Al-dahhan, 2021).

• Challenges (Negatively influenced)
Digital divide (Jena, 2020).
Electricity, internet connectivity in the rural areas etc.(Jena, 2020).
Low down of student attendance (Jena, 2020).
Unemployment (Jena,2020).
Reduction of National and International student mobility (Jena, 2020).
sudden shift to adapt and implement online learning has led to over-work, stress
among the teaching faculty etc. (Rashid & Yadav, 2020).
Pandemic-related anxiety (Rashid & Yadav, 2020).
Lack of technological skills (Rashid & Yadav, 2020).
Lack of motivation among students (Gochhayat & Mishra, 2021).
10. Conclusion
• Suggestions for improvement given by research findings:
Clear and compassionate communication with all the stakeholders of the higher
education (Rashid & Yadav, 2020).
Training in digital literacy (Khan, 2021).
Training to both students and teachers on digital skills (Mohalik & Sahoo,
2020).
Encouraging students to use peer to peer learning (Khan, 2021).
Building of community collaborations needs to be strengthened (Khan, 2021).
Organising workshop and orientation programmes. (Das & Dansana, 2021)
Making online classes more interesting.
Government attention for digital divide (Mohalik & Sahoo, 2020).
