General Education is the core curriculum which promotes academic resilience by providing the
skills necessary for students to succeed in their undergraduate areas of study, build connections
across disciplines, and adapt to a rapidly changing job market and world.

• Students who need MATH 1170, and with a Math Sub-Score below 22 should
take either MATH 0800 or complete a Math Placement test such as Accuplacer
• A college math course is required for liberal education
• Some majors will require a specific level of math

9. BUILDING A SCHEDULE
• Full Time = 12 credits
• Average = 15 credits per semester (4 year graduation plan)
• 5-7 classes
• Banded tuition cost 12-18 credits
• 2+ hours per credit = study/prep/research
• Example: A 3 credit class would be 6 hours of studying per week
• Always consider other commitments: work, family, extra curricular, GPA
• Next semester you will work with your faculty advisor on registration and will need an access
code to register
