I am highly interested in furthering my career in the business side of sports entertainment. I am currently
employed by the Tampa Bay Rays as a Membership Specialist and am in an entry level program. I consistently lead the
sales board for the last five months while working with the Rays and frequently would have fans call back in to
compliment me to my manager on my service skills. I am above all a team player, however will take the lead when
necessary. I am always willing to work long hours and whatever the Rays needed me to do, I would fill in. My current
position with the Tampa Bay Rays of the MLB is a Membership Specialist. I specialize in Season Ticket sales including
Full, Half, Quarter and even smaller plans that we offered through our membership opportunities. I have come to a point
where I am looking for further my career and work experience in the business side of Sports Entertainment. I was also
chosen from a group of 400 applicants to attend an exclusive training event with the Miami Dolphins; only 35 were
chosen to attend.
My business career started at the age of 20 years old, when I was chosen by a college marketing company called
Campus Special to start a market for them in Jacksonville. I was flown out to Atlanta for a week of training, networking
and learning valuable information about sales, cold calling, pitching the sale, closing the sale and how to interact with
clients. It was one of the hardest summers of my life, however, I ended up beginning the market with $25,000 worth of
sales in advertising and the company just completed its third year in Jacksonville. A couple of my prominent company
sales that summer were a $3,000 dollar sale to Domino’s pizza that included all of the Domino’s pizza stores from Georgia
to Orlando, Bento’s Sushiand Mochi Frozen Yogurt. It was a great experience for me and immediately right after,I was
hired by Buzz Magazine as their Territory Manager of sales for Jacksonville Beach. My clients included Casa Marina, Blue
Water Island Grill and Ginger’s to name a few.
Shortly after graduating from the University of North Florida, I was offered a job working in the Front Office of
the Tampa Bay Rays as a Membership Specialist. This experience helped me to craft my evolving sales and service skills
to another level of professionalism and precision. Over the course of the past year, I have made almost 10,000 cold calls
and have consistently been at the top of the sales board since the beginning of my position. I have exceled in on premise
promotions and face to face interactions that we have had with our fans; helping them to find the best option while being
able to enjoy watching their favorite sports team. I am currently looking to broaden my sales and service skills by taking
my career to the next level.
