Dear Hiring Executive,
Please accept this letter and accompanying resume as a formal application for a sales
position. I believe I am the best fit for your company because of my competitive edge,
incomparable communication skills and my quick learning curve. I know in order to be
successful in sales, I have to listen and learn from the most successful sales people and let
them be my mentors.
As
a
successful
athlete
since
childhood
I
have
had
an
abundance
of
experience
communicating
with
coaches,
administrators,
and
the
media,
through
public
speaking,
meetings,
and
interviews.
I
have
an
uncanny
ability
to
be
influential
and
am
able
to
sell
my
self
worth.
From
these
experiences
my
communication
skills
have
grown
which
I
believe
is
a
huge
asset
to
the
sales
industry
and
your
company.
My
relentless
competitiveness
and
charisma
cannot
be
overlooked.
Coming to America
from Ireland, I had aspirations of becoming a professional soccer player. Due to the
competitive nature and popularity of American Football, I was immediately captivated by
the sport. With very little to no experience in American football, I received no
scholarship to play, and had to walk-on at the University of Central Florida. Due to my
work ethic, over the first summer I received a full scholarship as a starting kicker for the
UCF knights. Here I competed 5 years at the collegiate level until January 2015, reaching
the pinnacle of my sport, achieving every goal I set my eyes on as well as receiving my
Bachelors degree. With that being said, with my competitive edge I think I would be an
outstanding sales representative for your company. I promise you, if you hire me it will
be one of the greatest decisions you’ve ever made. Coming from a different country, I
have the ability to adapt very quickly. Moving forward and exceling to reach my goals is
what inspires and drives me. Never settling, and never quitting are morals I live by.
Accolades and achievements sometimes overlook a persons life experiences, but in my
opinion life experiences and morals are what define you as an individual. My life
experiences have taught me that if you are willing to put in hard work, you can achieve
anything you set your eyes on.
I am new to the area and am excited to start my journey in the workforce. My
competiveness, work ethic and commitment are what I wish to bring with me to your
company, if given the opportunity; I would be an asset to your company because I strive
for excellence as an employee and as a colleague. I look forward to speaking with you to
further discuss my qualifications with your company.
Sincerely,
Sean J. Galvin
