1. Academic research (UCAS)
The appealing courses that I would like to study are
based in the creative media sector which include,
sports journalism, journalism, British drama tv and
society, media audiences, media society and power
and media visual effects. These are the higher
education courses that apply to my current course,
aspirations and further steps in life for education and
careers. But the courses that i am most interested in
would be the sports/journalism section, in which i
could use my knowledge and skill to report and
document different communities and cultures and
bring people together.
2. Appealing course 1:
Course summary: This is a for year course with first year being a foundation year, the course is taught in
Liverpool university, Hope Park campus. The foundation year is great way to acquire the skills and experiences
necessary for studying the full BA Hons degree programme. The combined courses have a honroboul 50/50
diploma split, which means the subject have a equal study timeline and qualifications at the end of the course.
Conservation biology:
Studying this degree will give me the
opportunity to gather intel and skills
such as Conservation biology,which
revolves around the protection and
management of nature and the Earth’s
biodiversity. It involves an evaluation of
human and other factors that affect all
living organisms with the aim of
protecting and conserving species, their
habitats and ecosystems. It is an
interdisciplinary subject that draws on
natural sciences to devise satisfactory
processes and approaches by which to
sustain and protect plant and animal
biodiversity in the UK and abroad.
This course mainly focuses on
conservation in terrestrial
environments. It develops knowledge of
key areas such as the principles and
practices of ecology, habitat
management, nature conservation and
the functioning of natural systems,
particularly with regard to different
points of view including scientific,
ethical and philosophical perspectives.
Opportunities are provided to apply
knowledge and understanding of
conservation biology during field
courses within the UK and abroad giving
first-hand experience of a range of
ecosystems.
Digital creativity: The BA Digital Creativity
section will educate me towards creating
work that bridges the gap between
traditional creative practices and their
modern technologically-facilitated
counterparts from gaming, to graphic design
to music and dance. It responds to the
continuing appropriation of emerging digital
technologies by artists with the aim of
discovering new approaches for creative
expression. In Creative Convergence,
the course responds to the teaching and
research interests of staff within the subjects
of Music, Performance and Visual Arts as well
as colleagues in the areas related to
Computer Science.
I would learn how to use a variety of
technologies and realise assessed projects
which may include motion capture, haptic
feedback, interaction design, data
sonification visualisation,
animation & sound design, and
coding/scripting in relevant languages strictly
for creative output.
The course will be structured around
lectures, practical seminars and workshops
and tutorials. There is the expectation of
independent study for the realisation of
creative digital applications. The practical
seminars will act as laboratories for me to
experiment with these technologies and
enhance their skill sets, working towards a
signature practice that primes them for the
digital creative sector.
