Unsolicited Redesign
Prepared by Amy Benders

In this presentation
you will find ideas
that you can draw
inspiration from to
completely redesign
the web page.
Concept Concept is vital when
designing or redesigning
any web page.
You need a concept as a
base from which you build
upon to create whatever it
is you need.
The concept for this web
page was that the content
was the focus.
The web designer built the
page for the content to be
the main focus and
attraction.
This web designer had a concept
of facts and statistics.
The designer then used this
concept to create a professional
looking page that would used
facts to draw in clients.
This concept was for the
different
areas, services, and
products offered.
With this in mind the designer
made the navigation bar the
focus point which impacted
the overall design choices.
Color
Color is also an
important choice that
affects the overall
design.
Color can be a
choice to use only
one or two colors, or
have the page
mostly text.
This designer made the
choice of using mostly
text with one other color
for highlighting other
parts.
With this choice the
designer must keep in
mind what they wish to
highlight and how much
text they will have.
This webpage has a
Monochromatic color palette.
This means that the designer
made a choice to use only two
colors to create the webpage.
The designer then had to be
aware of how much of each
color is used and where so that
the page is not
overwhelmed, or that any
subjects are not blending with
another of the same color.
This page uses multiple
colors from one palette.
This choice gives the designer
a little more freedom in where
they put the colors as long as
they have some sort of pattern.
However, they need to be
careful that they don’t go
overboard and overwhelm the
content of the page.
Tone
Tone is very important
to determine as well.
Tone impacts a
designer’s choice for
fonts, layout, and any
images used.
This website has a
welcoming tone to it.
The welcoming tone of this
site had the designer
choosing warm colors as
well as simple fonts.
The lay out itself is simple
but easy to use.
This site has a tone of
simplicity.
With this tone in mind the
designer choose a very simple
layout and focused on what the
company is, as well as the sign
up button.
The font is clean cut sans-serif
along with darker colors make
the site easy to look at.
This tone is playful or
whimsical.
This allowed the designer to
choose a more fluid font and
lighter colors.
The images also lend a hand in
making the page se playful and
attract the veiwer.
This presentation has shown you different ideas for web
designs using different concepts, colors, and tones. As
well as shown why each is important for a designer to
keep in mind and decide before beginning.
Thank you for viewing and I hope this has helped you with
creating some of your own designs.
