Just as the Dutch staked new ground when they established New
Netherland, so is Oosten staking new ground in South Williamsburg.
Purchased by the Dutch East India Company from Native American settlers
in 1638, Williamsburg got its name in the 1800s, when it became a hub
for factories, foundries, and shipyards. In the early 1900s, immigrants
flowed into the neighborhood, and by the end of that century, the area
was discovered by a whole new kind of resident: The hipster.
Today, South Williamsburg is one of the most culturally exciting
neighborhoods in the entire city. The waterfront district, where Oosten

Bedford Avenue, yet is just one subway stop from Manhattan, steps from

In keeping with Piet Boon’s Dutch sensibility, two finishing packages – Light and Dark
– are available in Oosten’s residences. Both palettes are serene and neutral, and suit
the streamlined interiors of the building. The light package features a soothing light
gray hue that plays out across residence kitchen and bathroom counters, kitchen
cabinets and other elements of the residences. The dark package features a rich
grey-brown shade that is applied across the same elements.
