The university outreach services provides information to high school students about admission requirements, financial aid, and academic programs to help students apply to and attend a 4-year university. It maintains student files and follows up with admitted students. The director oversees outreach counselors and student ambassadors who are assigned to local high schools to help students with the application process and inform them of important deadlines and events. The goal is to help students, especially those from underserved communities, gain access to higher education opportunities.

5. the at-risk population outreach services
addresses are high school students ranging from
the lower income area school within the Fresno
Unified District to the outlying rural high
schools. The ethnicity of the students helped are
a diverse group, over 30 different race are
serviced.

the aims are to provide high school students
and transfer student the knowledge and
information on how to apply and requirements
necessary to attend a 4-year CSU School.
the goals are for the students are to hopefully
get them to attend CSU Fresno, but if not, then
at east get them to attend a college

• Students have a right and opportunity to
attend a college after high school, and should
be well aware of the different choices they
have as well as being able to apply for
Financial Aid, and other programs that are
there to help out the students.

• Each student ambassador is assigned to a high
school, while there the ambassadors interacts
with the counselor and students, reviewing
their high school transcript and helping them
set up the CSU Mentor application. Afterwards
the ambassador are to follow up with the
students regarding crucial events they need to
register for, or deadlines.

every student is informed about the
requirements to get into a CSU campus. Also
not every student may have access to the
resources needed to get the application
turned in, and this is where university
outreach services comes in, with the tools and
know how to effectively help the students out
in making an informed decision.
