In this chapter the apostle Paul addresses important questions on sex in marriage, call to singleness and marriage. He points us to the truth that regardless of our station in life, our goal must be to please the Lord, focus on Him and serve Him well.
When the Lord gave us His Spirit, He gave us fully and without reserve, If you are a believer in The Lord Jesus Christ, you have it as it is your right and inheritance.
Before Christ came into our lives, we were children of darkness. But even as God is light, and Christ is the light of the world, so also are we are children of light. As such, we ought to walk in the light and behave in a manner consistent with our calling. Wake up oh Christian and let your light shine.
Many of us have an endless list of questions when it comes to Bible prophecy. It is quite possible that the more we study, the more confusing it all becomes. Taken from Dr. Jeremiah's "Answers to the Unsolved Mysteries of Prophecy" booklet, these charts will help you navigate through end-times prophecy and will answer your questions about the final days of this world.

Are you "hot" or "cold" for Christ? He prefers one or the other. What he can't stand is the "lukewarm" Christian. Such a person won't lose his salvation, but he could lose his ministry, his privileges and even his physical life! This often happens to wealthy believers who trust themselves, as happened to the rich church at Laodicea. Hear the warning. Better yet, heed it.

February is National Heart Awareness Month. It is meant to cause the nation to take note of the seriousness of heart disease and to be reminded about those things that promote heart health. It is wise in a spiritual sense to take time and do the same relative to our spiritual hearts. This is what this study is designed to do.
Not unlike the effects of today’s Coronavirus, the older generation of Israel in the wilderness were dying. Numbers 20 begins with the death of Miriam (1) and concludes with the death of Aaron (28, 29). If you were to die today, what legacy would you leave? When was the last time you murmured or complained about something associated with COVID-19? What was your complaint? How did your criticism or complaint change you, your relationship with God and those around you? Why did the Lord send “fiery serpents among the people” (21:6)? What was Moses’ response when he heard their complaints and saw God’s judgment? (7) How should we be like Moses? What was the Lord’s response? (8) Why did Jesus compare Himself to Moses’ brazen serpent? (John 3:14-16) Why do many (sadly most) people refuse to look and live? (8)

A verse by verse commentary on Ephesians 5 17-33 dealing with avoiding living a foolish life of getting drunk, but instead be filled with the Holy Spirit and sing with joy because you know the will of God. Paul then goes on to deal with the relationships of husband and wife.
This is a collection of writings focusing on a paragraph of Paul in his letter of I Corinthians in which there are 8 references to the Holy Spirit which I believe is the most anywhere in the Bible.
One of the great stumbling blocks to evangelism and faith is the doctrine of predestination. Calvin was the most vociferous advocate of it, and he built it around his belief in total depravity. But was he right. In this talk, Tony explains where Calvin went wrong because his frame was limited. Tony turns to Ephesians 1 and builds much grander picture of what predestination means.
Paul summarizes the first part of his letter of correction before heading on to other issues in the church at Corinth. Godly leadership as well as godly followers are needed both then and today. This is the last in the series Build in Right.
What is a spiritual discerner and how can I be spiritually discerning? This was a middle school assembly presentation I gave at Tianjin International School (China).

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

Unity through wisdom 1 Corinthians 2
1. According to the grace of
God which was given to
me, like a wise master
builder I laid a
foundation, and another
is building on it. But each
man must be careful how
he builds on it.
1 Corinthians 3:10
2. Evangelism’s Call
1. 4 unchurched people you know
2. Pray for them
3. Purposely engage them
4. Invite at least 1 this week
4. Key Verse
Now I exhort you, brethren, by the name of our Lord
Jesus Christ, that you all agree and that there be no
divisions among you, but that you be made complete in
the same mind and in the same judgment.
1 Corinthians 1:10
Unity in mind and judgement
Complete
5. 1 Corinthians 2:1–16
1 And when I came to you, brethren, I did not come
with superiority of speech or of wisdom, proclaiming to
you the testimony of God. 2 For I determined to know
nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and Him
crucified. 3 I was with you in weakness and in fear and
in much trembling, 4 and my message and my
preaching were not in persuasive words of wisdom, but
in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, 5 so that
your faith would not rest on the wisdom of men,
6. but on the power of God. 6 Yet we do speak wisdom
among those who are mature; a wisdom, however, not
of this age nor of the rulers of this age, who are passing
away; 7 but we speak God’s wisdom in a mystery, the
hidden wisdom which God predestined before the ages
to our glory; 8 the wisdom which none of the rulers of
this age has understood; for if they had understood it
they would not have crucified the Lord of glory; 9 but
just as it is written, “THINGS WHICH EYE HAS NOT SEEN AND
EAR HAS NOT HEARD, AND which HAVE NOT ENTERED THE HEART
OF MAN, ALL THAT GOD HAS PREPARED FOR THOSE WHO LOVE
HIM.” 10 For to us God revealed them through the Spirit;
7. for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of
God. 11 For who among men knows the thoughts of a
man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even
so the thoughts of God no one knows except the Spirit
of God. 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the
world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may
know the things freely given to us by God, 13 which
things we also speak, not in words taught by human
wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, combining
spiritual thoughts with spiritual words. 14 But a natural
man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for
they are foolishness to him;
8. and he cannot understand them, because they are
spiritually appraised. 15 But he who is spiritual
appraises all things, yet he himself is appraised by no
one. 16 For WHO HAS KNOWN THE MIND OF THE LORD, THAT HE
WILL INSTRUCT HIM? But we have the mind of Christ.
9.
10. Call to mind
And when I came to you, brethren, I did not come with
superiority of speech or of wisdom, proclaiming to you
the testimony of God. For I determined to know
nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and Him
crucified. I was with you in weakness and in fear and in
much trembling, and my message and my preaching
were not in persuasive words of wisdom,
11. Call to mind
but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, so that
your faith would not rest on the wisdom of men, but on
the power of God.
1 Corinthians 2:1–5
12. Opposite of
Greek Culture
Not much of a start
Not with superior
speech
Not with clever
words
Not persuasive
words
Not man’s wisdom
13. Earthly wisdom
This wisdom is not that which comes down from above,
but is earthly, natural, demonic. For where jealousy and
selfish ambition exist, there is disorder and every evil
thing.
James 3:15–16
14. Path One
Earthly-belonging to the earth
Natural-of human nature
Demonic-inspired by Satan
Jealousy-resentment against
someone
Selfish Ambition-wanting to be
or perceived as better than
someone else
Disorder-defiance of authority
Evil-moral baseness
15. Physical/Emotional
Trauma
"A man small in size,
bald-headed, bandy-
legged, well-built, with
eyebrows meeting,
rather long-nosed, full
of grace. For
sometimes he seemed
like a man, and
sometimes he had the
countenance of an
angel"
Weakness
Fear
Trembling
16. Hard couple of days…
(1) Fearful because of his rough treatment at Philippi,
Thessalonika, and Berea
(2) Disappointed at the results in Athens
(3) Physical problem, probably eye trouble,
(4) Crisis of faith and discouragement
17. Think about it
1. Jesus had His own discouraging moments
(Gethsemane)
2. The Apostles often did not fully understand Jesus’
teachings. Frustrated both
3. Paul felt fearful and weak.
4. We do too
18. Faith rests on the power of God
Yet we do speak wisdom among those who are mature;
a wisdom, however, not of this age nor of the rulers of
this age, who are passing away; but we speak God’s
wisdom in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God
predestined before the ages to our glory;
19. The world didn’t understand
“THINGS WHICH EYE HAS NOT SEEN AND EAR HAS NOT HEARD,
AND which HAVE NOT ENTERED THE HEART OF MAN, ALL THAT
GOD HAS PREPARED FOR THOSE WHO LOVE HIM.”
God has wisdom that we cannot imagine
Loving God is the key
20. What does it look like?
But the wisdom from
above is first pure, then
peaceable, gentle,
reasonable, full of mercy
and good fruits,
unwavering, without
hypocrisy. And the seed
whose fruit is
righteousness is sown in
peace by those who
make peace.
James 3:17–18
21. Spirit Discipleship
For to us God revealed them through the Spirit; for the
Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God.
Even so the thoughts of God no one knows except the
Spirit of God.
22. Not an exclusive club
But you are A CHOSEN RACE, A royal PRIESTHOOD, A HOLY
NATION, A PEOPLE FOR God’s OWN POSSESSION, so that you
may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called
you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
1 Peter 2:9
Not just leadership
YOU proclaim
23. Spirit of God not spirit of the world
Now we have received,
not the spirit of the world,
but the Spirit who is from
God, so that we may know
the things freely given to
us by God,
Know
Things given
For free
24. Revelation
…which things we also speak,
not in words taught by human
wisdom, but in those taught
by the Spirit, combining
spiritual thoughts with
spiritual words.
25. Revelation is yours
…that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of
glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of
revelation in the knowledge of Him.
Ephesians 1:17
26. Sinners cannot understand
But a natural man does not accept the things of the
Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he
cannot understand them, because they are spiritually
appraised.
Spiritually appraised
27. Word Wealth
Spiritually-to being consistent with transcendent
influence, in keeping with the Spirit
Appraised-make a judgment on the basis of careful and
detailed information
28. The extreme boldness of this statement is justified and
explained in v. 16. The spiritual man is so united to
Christ that his thinking is the thinking of Christ. Hence it
is false to imagine that claims to this pneumatic
awareness might disrupt the congregation. The man
thus bound to Christ is a member of Christ’s body, 1 C.
12:12–27. He is vitally linked to the congregation. On
the other hand, he is subject only to the Lord, not to
majority decisions or to other individuals
29. We are joined with Christ
But he who is spiritual appraises all things, yet he
himself is appraised by no one. For WHO HAS KNOWN THE
MIND OF THE LORD, THAT HE WILL INSTRUCT HIM? But we have
the mind of Christ.
30. Key Verse
Now I exhort you, brethren, by the name of our Lord
Jesus Christ, that you all agree and that there be no
divisions among you, but that you be made complete in
the same mind and in the same judgment.
1 Corinthians 1:10
31. Our take away
1. I must chose spiritual wisdom
2. Crucify what is not spiritual
3. Ask the Lord for His wisdom
4. Seek unity not my way
