2. Introduction
• The word ‘ Report’ is derived from the Latin word ‘reportare’, ‘re’ meaning back and
‘portare’ meaning to carry.
• A report is a written narrative statement of a situation, and event, project, process or text.
• Investigative business reports, reports of an event, project reports, news paper reports
are some of the types of reports.
•An investigative report includes : 1. The facts
2. How the facts were obtained
3. Conclusions
4. Their significance and
5. Recommendations.
• A report can be both Oral or Written.
• Written reports are important as they can be preserved as
records.
3. • To record the work done, whether conclusive or not.
• Assess a situation.
•Circulate new ideas.
• Record events, activities conducted in an organisation.
• Indicate a course of action to be taken as a result of work done.
• Keep others, especially the management, informed of work done and progress made.
Objectives of Report Writing
4. • The soundness and reliability of a report rests upon the accuracy of the information
presented in it. Following are the principal sources of gathering information:
1. Personal Observation
2. Printed documents
3. Visual aids like maps, statistical data, flow charts, tables, graphics etc.
4. Interviews with people.
5. One can also gain information through sources like books, papers, journals,
magazines, published lists, registers etc.
Reports are of two types:
1. Formal Reports – Investigative Reports, Project Reports, News Reports etc.
2. Informal Reports – Journalistic or New Reports.

5. MISS SMRK PERSONALITY CONTEST 2019-20
REPORT
“Miss SMRK Personality Contest 2019-20” was organised on 18th December 2019 at
Parshuram Saikhedkar Natya Mandir during 9. 00 a.m. to 11.00 a.m as a part of Annual Social Gathering
of the college.
Hon. Sir Dr.M.S.Gosavi, Secretary and Director General of Gokhale Education Society
presided over the programme. Dr. R. P. Deshpande, Trustee and Joint Treasurer, Gokhale Education
Society, Hon. Prin. Dr. Mrs. Deepti Deshpande, Principal and Director, HR ,of Gokhale Education
Society, Dr. Ram Kulkarni, Zonal Secretary( Nasik Zone), G.E.Society and Principal of B.Y.K. (Sinnar)
College of Commerce, Nasik, sponsor of the event , Dr. Nalini Bagul, Bagul Hospital, Nasik, vice
principals of the college, Mrs.Sadhana Deshmukh, Dr. Mrs. Kavita Patil, Dr.Mrs. NeelamBokil graced the
event.
The programme began with the Ganesh Vandana performed by Ms.Aditi Amrutkar followed
by the ManchPujan by hon. Prin. Dr. Ram Kulkarni,Zonal Secretary of Gokhale Education Society and
Principal of B.Y.K. (Sinnar) College of Commerce. The contest followed then after.

6. Twelve finalists were selected from sixty participants after a rigorous screening from seven rounds
namely, 1.Physical Fitness, 2. Mental Ability Test, 3. General Knowledge Test, 4. Essay Writing, 5.Extemp
ore Speech, 6.Talent and Self Introduction and 7. Panel Interview. Three rounds were conducted during t
he contest. The first round was talent and self-introduction round. Six contestants were selected for the
next rounds to follow that is situation based questions round and judges’ questions round. The result of t
he contest was then declared. Ms. Saisha Ayachit from SYBMS was declared “Miss SMRK 2019-20”. Ms. Si
dhhi Date from 11th Science was the 1st Runner Up and Ms.GargiDeodhar was declared 2nd Runner up
for the contest.
Mrs. Swati Takle, Owner, Takle Jewellers, Nasik, Mrs.RashmiSomani, Nutritionist and Owne
r, Nutricare, Nasik and Mrs. PoonamChoudhari, Head, MCA, R.H. Sapat College of Engineering, Manage
ment Studies and Research, Nasik shouldered the responsibility of judging the contest.
Ms. Janvi Punjabi from SYBMS Ms. Samiksha Lokhande and Ms. Tanvi Medhane from
12th Science anchored the programme. The contest concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by
Ms. Dhanashri Kshatriya.
