Unit plan 5 senses

Editor's Notes

  1. I will be teaching the five main senses of sight, hearing, tough, taste, and smell over the course of a week. The third grade class consisting on 23 students of which 13 are girls and 10 are boys, will have a 100% better understanding of the five senses after the week is over. They will learn while singing songs, playing games, making graphs, using different computer software and websites, making crafts, and using different senses to complete activities.
  2. The day by day breakdown goes as Monday is focused on sight. On Monday we will make a graph of everyone’s eye colors and test our vision buy trying on glasses with different prescriptions. Along with the sight activities the class will learn the 5 Senses Song. Tuesday is hearing. On this day the students will play a mystery noises game and take a Sensory Nature Walk. Wednesday will be touch where the class will play What’s in the Box and play Jeopardy on PowerPoint. Taste will be taught on Thursday. Thursday the students will do a tongue map experiment and post their results on Zoom For Kids by Kids along with that they will watch Youtube video on taste. Finally on Friday smell will be discussed. They will play What’s that Smell, follow along with a Smart Board Activity, and play online games that focus on all of the senses.
  3. The class will be using technology to watch videos on websites such as YouTube, play games on educational websites, post results to an experiment on Zoom for Kids by Kids, Play games like Jeopardy through PowerPoint, and be involved in Smart Board activites.
