THE CONSTITUTION
The Constitution is Spain’s most important law and must be obeyed
throughout its territory. It was approved on 6th December 1978.
It establishes Spain as a parliamentary monarchy. The King is the head of
state, but he must respect the laws.
The Constitution recognises that power resides with the people. All
citizens are equal before the law and that we all have the same rights and
responsabilities.
