This unit aims to prepare learners with an awareness of employment status and the employment marketplace within the creative media sector. Learners will learn about the main types of employment status, their legal and taxation differences, and implications for job security, flexibility and working patterns. Learners will also describe a range of prospective employers in the creative media sector and how to choose an employer based on their personal interests, knowledge, skills and job requirements. Finally, learners will promote themselves by creating a professional CV, discussing their strengths and weaknesses for a specific job application, and describing and pitching a creative idea to an employer or commissioner.
