2. Technical Drawing is a language which we use
to comunicate a graphic idea.

3. PENCILS
• Pencil have a wooden case with a lead inside made of
graphite and clay

4. PAPER
• The paper is the Surface where we draw.
Types of paper
A series paper sizes: A0 is a rectangle
with an area of 1 m².
Each format is calculated by dividing
the previous format in half.

5. RUBBER (or eraser)
The rubber is use to erase strokes made by a pencil.

6. RULER
• We use it to measure the length of a segment.
• The markings on a ruler show centimetres (a long line) and
milimetres (a short line).

7. PROTRACTOR (goniometer) - TRANSPORTADOR
• We use it to measure and draw angles. It is
usually a semicircle with markings to show
degrees from 0º to 180º.

8. TRIANGLE - ESCUADRA
• A right-angled isosceles triangle with 45º, 45º and 90º
angles.
• It is used to draw parallel and perpendicular lines.

9. SEET SQUARE - CARTABÓN
• A right-angled scalene triangle with 30º, 60º and 90º angles.
• It is used to draw parallel and perpendicular lines.

10. COMPASS
• It is used to draw circles and arcs, and to copy
segments.

17. SKETCHES (BOCETO)
• It is an initial drawing which shows the
fundamental elements of a design and reflects its
main concept.
• We draw sketches freehand with a pencil. We do
not have to use rulers or other drawing tools.

18. DIAGRAMS (CROQUIS)
• It has more information than a sketch.
• The diagram includes measurements, materials, ways of connecting the
pieces, etc.
• We also draw it freehand with a pencil.

19. TECHNICAL DRAWINGS
(DIBUJO TÉCNICO)
• A technical drawings has information from three viewpoints.
• We must use a ruler, set squares and/or a compass.
