Ultrabooks are a new category of laptops that are thinner, lighter, and more portable than standard laptops. They operate similarly to current laptops but have extended battery life of over 5 hours, are under 0.71 inches thick and weigh less than 3 pounds, making them as portable as tablets. Common storage space is 64-128GB and prices range from $900 to $1600 depending on the model. Several Ultrabook models are highlighted including the Asus UX21 and UX31, Lenovo IdeaPad U300s, and Toshiba Portege Z830/Z835, along with their expected prices and release dates in late 2011.
