1. Update from Clusters

2. Discussions within Cluster 1 over the coming year are expected to focus on three key
topics

 Sector specific applications and demand
 Topics to be confirmed based on market need but might include specific
spectrum pinch-points and spectrum issues issues in relation to
M2M/Internet of Things, audio PMSE and/or wireless LAN
 In each case the objective will be to
build UK industry views and
facilitate cross-industry
understanding of sector-specific
needs
 There is a possibility of at least two
working papers/reports being
produced by Cluster 1 by the end of
2016, on UK industry views on the
spectrum vision for 5G, and
elements for longer term spectrum
strategy on UHF
 5G spectrum needs (mm-Wave)
 Interfacing with the Cluster 4 ‘international’ discussion where required
 Longer term UHF spectrum needs
 Noting the expected EC proposals on longer term 470-694MHz use
being published this year, this topic might focus on setting out industry’s
priorities for spectrum management across the UHF band (470-
960MHz)
