5. MahakaleshwarTemple
The Mahakleshwar Jyotirling temple (also known as Mahakal) is
one of the most famous Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Shiva
and is one of the twelve Jyotirlingams, which are supposed to be
the most sacred abodes of Lord Shiv !! The real establishment
date/period of the temple cannot be ascertained.
But earliest references to the Mahakal are from 6th century BC !!
The temple, in its present form, was reconstructed in 18th
century.
The temple is located in the ancient city of Ujjain (Ujjaini) in the
state of Madhya Pradesh, India, and is around 55 km away from
Indore. .

Samrat yantra is a sundial that can
give the local time to an accuracy of
2 seconds. It is a UNESCO World
Heritage Site. It was built by
maharaja jaisingh in 1725.

brother of Vikramaditya and a very

line, Chintaman Ganesh Temple is one of the most visited places
in Ujjain.The Ganesh idol enshrined here is supposed to be
Swayambhu (born of itself). It is an ancient temple that has been
done artistically. Worshippers throng to this temple because the
deity here is traditionally known as Chintaharan Ganesh meaning
“the assurer of freedom from worldly anxieties”
