2. Intro to wicked problem
The importance of good communication and collaboration
in a workspace

3. Goal of Project
3
As part of a UI/UX bootcamp, we received a so called “wicked
problem” and had 5 days to work on it - using a variety of Design
Thinking methodology.
Goal was to focus and design despite a huge problem statement
and practice design thinking methodology.
4. Workplace Collaboration
4
Effective collaboration is essential for productivity and innovation
in the workplace. However, studies show that poor communication
and collaboration can cost organizations millions of dollars each
year, leading to decreased employee engagement and suboptimal
outcomes.
Question: How Might We design digital platforms or tools that
facilitate seamless communication, collaboration, and knowledge
sharing among teams in diverse work environments?
7. ➔ What are the most popular
platforms/tools used and why?
➔ What is your preferred workspace
now? And how in future? (hybrid vs.
remote)
➔ What motivates you to stay
productive?
➔ What are the main challenges in
communication or in a diverse
workspace?

8. Why people quit their jobs?

BURNOUT
LOYALTY
STAGNATION
INDIFFERENCE
MISCOMMUNICATION
EXHAUSTION
Lack of career opportunities
Bad relationship with coworkers
They feel disengaged.
Overstressed or overworked.
Feeling disrespected at work
Micromanagement
11. User Quotes:
11
“boss didn't knew how to communicate with
everyone”
“everyone just came to me with all the
questions”
“my boss always wanted more from me, which
was very challenging”
“we had the feeling our boss didn't trust
us”
“there was no personal space,
sometimes he would call me on
whatsapp”
“everyone wrote where they preferred”
“less is more… to not feel overwhelmed, it
took me a lot of time to figure it out”
for miscommunication we just go the same
moment the problem appears, and then simply
ask
“my ideal communicating is always better in
person…”
“when you are allow to create too much, then you
don’t know where to write, and also finding people,
like you don’t know who to contact”

collaboration tools while having fun
because they feel overwhelmed and
lack human contact

Hannah is working at home,
she starts her workday at
9:00. Her virtual assistant pet
AIgotchi welcomes her back
to an exciting day of work.
AIgotchi summarizes the
activities ahead and
reminds her the Check-in
Meeting is starting now
and that he is thirsty.
Hannah’s FUN & productive working day with AIgotchi
Hannah is in a Zoom Meeting.
AIgotchi is responding to easy
questions for her. For complex
question asks entertaining quiz
to categorize the issues.
After the meeting the
AIgotchi summarizes the
meetings and action items
and raps the summary.
AIgotchi recognizes that
Hannah has not moved
enough (neither has her
co-worker Jackson) and they
all practice fun yoga together.
Hannah feels happy and
relaxed afterwards.
Lunch: AIgotchi says he
is hungry and it’s time
to eat! then matches
Hannah with another
colleague for virtual
lunch break.
Hannah returns to work:
AIgotchi listed all requests
and prioritized to do’s across
channels while she was
unavailable. Divided by
“Most urgent” and “can
wait until tomorrow”
After her focus work
AIgotchi asks “How do
you wanna end your
day”? “Hit me with a
funny GIF or hero song”
Hannah feels happy,
relaxed and productive.
