The Final Solution What we know already
What do we know about the factual place of Auschwitz? Millions of Jews, political prisoners, prisoners of war, disabled people and gypsies were sent there. The majority of them were murdered by the Nazis. The Nazi leader was Adolf Hitler Auschwitz was seen as the perfect place to commit these war crimes as it was easily serviced by a rails system. The rail system came from the east and the west.
How did the German people feel? (Bruno) Many were naïve and didn’t know what was happening. Hitler had passed laws between 1933 and 1936 preventing Jews from sharing the same liberties as other Germans. Hitler used propaganda to get support from the rest of the German people. Many Germans were undertaking National Service, as the war required more soldiers.
How did the Jewish people feel? (Shmuel) Jews were being forced out of their homes and placed in ghettos around the major German cities. Jews were being transported from all across Europe after the ghettos were becoming overcrowded. Many of the ghettos and even concentration camps were largely run by Jewish Police. These Jews never lasted long because the Nazis knew they had seen the worst atrocities.
