Since the model of a food
court is for the masses and
deals with daily wear they
did not want luxurious
materials and preferred a
budget friendly space.
PLANNING
3. CONCEPT
A Bollywood theme with
vibrant colors have been
used in the space. Since
there was a budget
constraint hence the theme
was set to be industrial.
Usually all food courts have
the same basic design
language but it was
interesting to come up with
one of a kind food court
model in the country.

4. DESIGN
ELEMENTS
The facade of
the building its glass with a
height of 50 feet. The idea of
placing the sculptures
climbing the ropes signifies
the heights that the existing
Janak Cinema has achieved
over a period of time. The
sculptures are placed at
different heights and are
hanging from the Ceiling.
The best view can be
achieved from the first level
of the building which
supports an all glass
enclosure.
5. ARTWORK
A 55 feet wall art was
specially designed to portray
the main essence of the
space. It showcases a tug of
war over food between the
famous Bollywood heroes
and villains.
The space had a problem
with extra number of
pillars. Hence the pillars
were made to look as the
feature of the whole space.
The mdf pixel boxes diffuse
warm light and create a
happy environment.
6. HIGHLIGHTS
5 Different kinds
of flooring options have
been used in the space
but the highlight are the
2500 triangular pieces
(3 different colors)
designed to highlight the
area bordering the
kiosks.
36 custom MDF lights on
the ceiling going
in synchronization with
the wooden flooring in
the same pattern.
The pillars are the
feature of the space as
they are beautified with
alabaster sheets and
pixilated mdf (from
screens) backlit with led.
7. Corian is the
highlight
material as
the orange
color defines
all the kiosks.
It is seamless
super durable
for this kind of
high traffic
area.
8. 36 pieces of
custom lights
have been
designed
ranging from 1
feet to 36 feet.
The lights and
the
flooring contin
ue in the same
triangular sync
hronisation.
9. The floor plan
was designed
to fit in
maximum
seating of 220
seats. Tolex
stools have
been added to
a linear
orange 55 feet
table
to accommoda
te a large
number
of people
10. The concept of
Cinema and
foodcourt go
hand in hand.
The
interior envir
onment of
a restaurant co
mbines with
multiple food
brands in
one space is
the USP.
