Kimber De Lorenzo is awarded the 2004 Community Xeriscape Leader Award for her work promoting water conservation and the use of native plants through xeriscape principles. Over the past 10 years, she has transformed her property into a demonstration of natural washes and over 700 labeled native and drought-tolerant plants. De Lorenzo also developed a curriculum focusing on water harvesting and native plants that she has taught to local school children, helping one school win awards for their wildlife habitat garden. She brings extensive knowledge and dedication to educating the community about sustainable landscaping.
