Jakub Jozwiakowski
has completed the free course including any mandatory tests for:
Environment: Following the flows
This 12-hour free course traced the global movement of the wind to show how it is
the principle mechanism of atmospheric circulation and oceanic flow.

Course summary
What affects the atmospheric and ocean flows?
This free course, Environment: Following the
flows, explores the mechanisms that are
important; the most rapid carrier is the wind. The
basic principle of global atmospheric circulation
is simple: warm air rises and cold air sinks. How
does this principle affect the atmosphere and flow
of water in practical terms?
Learning outcomes
By completing this course, the learner should be
able to:
understand how chemical processes in the rest
of the world affect the Arctic environment and
the species inhabiting it
recognise the physical processes that
determine atmosphere and oceanic flows in the
Arctic
understand the scientific research process and
the use of scientific evidence
use quantitative scientific evidence to examine
the link between atmospheric carbon dioxide
levels and global temperatures
recognise how scientific data is used to predict
global climate change.
Completed study
The learner has completed the following:
Section 1
A climate change icon
Section 2
The atmospheric and ocean flows
Section 3
The ice time machine
Section 4
The end of the last ice age: the Holocene
Section 5
The contemporary Arctic climate
Section 6
