2. Interior design is a combination of creative and technical aspects that begin with
a concept and then developed by initial hand sketching on trace to final computer
renderings and drawings. This multifaceted profession allows for creativity in all
phases. My ultimate goal with interior design is to create spaces that accurately

4. Creswell Hall
Renovation
Intent: To give students a sense of “Home Away from Home”
when they matriculate. Given the traditional style student
dormitory, this project transforms that building into a space
that will be up to date, enjoyable, and comfortable to the
students.
To incorporate “Home Away from Home” this project takes
into consideration privacy without insolation. This will
encourage community and help students transition
successfully to the college life.
Design: This project expands the existing rooms of Creswell
Hall to give students more space and the apartment style
living they are looking for. Instead of having individual,
closed off rooms, the two spaces are separated by a
partitioned mirrored wall. Each suite has a private bathroom
and a common area with a couch and small kitchen.

Intent: To introduce theory of hotel and spa design, test new
design method for space planning and interior design,
articulate a variety of design options for a given problem,
and develop the ability to select appropriate furniture,
colors, materials, textures, and patterns in the selection and
application of finishes and furnishing hotel spaces.
Your clients have planned to create a stylish five-star spa
hotel and you have been hired to design the interiors of this
project. This is a 30-story building that will house the
following: Lobby, Restaurants, Conference Rooms and
Event Hall, Japanese inspired Spa, Guest Rooms, Executive
Suite, Deluxe Suite, Preimere Suite, and Presidential Suite.
This was a group project and our concept was a sense of yin
and yang. We incorporated natural elements and cool colors
into our design to add a sense of elegance to the different
spaces.

Project
Intent: To design a residence for an accomplished harp-
sichordist and church organist. The client wants a space
with one bedroom, ample living, and perfomance space
for him to practice and
entertain guests each month.
When looking at the space provided and the needs of the
client, I chose to have a more open floorplan with contem-
porary modern elements of design. I wanted to incorpo-
rate a way that guests can view and listen to the sound of
the harpischord from anywhere in the space. The second
floor is placed in the middle of the lower space so that
there is a view down on each side, keeping privacy in
mind.
