1. SNICKER DOODLES (MOLDED COOKIES)
4 c. butter
4 c. shortening
1 egg
1 1/3 c. flour
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tsp. sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon
Heat oven to 400 degrees. Mix thoroughly shortening, sugar, and egg. Sift
together dry ingredients. Blend the 2 mixtures. Roll dough into balls about the
size of walnuts. Roll balls into mixture of sugar and cinnamon. Place 2 inches
apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 6-8 minutes.
2. MAGIC COOKIE BARS
1 1/2 cups corn flakes
3 tbsp. sugar
1/2 cup margarine or butter
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 1/2 cups flaked coconut
1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
1 cup sweetened condensed milk
Melt butter in 13x9x2 inch pan. Crush corn flakes. Add sugar. Press firmly into
the bottom of pan to form a crust.
Add remaining ingredients in layers. Bake at 350F for for 25 minutes or until
lightly browned around the edges.
Cool and cut into bars.
3. OATMEAL REFRIGERATOR COOKIES
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
1 c. shortening (butter or margarine)
2 eggs
3 c. quick-cooking oatmeal
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1/4 c. flaked coconut
1 tsp. vanilla
Form into 2 rolls about 2 inches thick and wrap in plastic wrap or wax paper
and refrigerate overnight.
Next day, slice 1/4-inch thick and place on greased cookie sheets. Bake at
375°F for 7-12 minutes (depends on size of cookies made). Do not overbake.
