It’s not particularly helpful to discuss leadership in the abstract. We’re going to expect you to apply it directly to your personal leadership challenges. The Applied Influence session is an opportunity for you to tap into the wisdom of your peers to help you craft an influence strategy to improve your leadership effectiveness. Come prepared with some of your career and leadership challenges and we'll work as a group to help you address them.

Michael Liimatta, Chief Academic Officer of City Vision College, explains 3 key questions, 4 failure factors, and several strategies for developing a new ministry/nonprofit startup
Unmet expectations are one of the top reasons members resign from Rotary. When there are so many groups, causes, and priorities that people could devote their time to, what's our unique value? Our members need a clear understanding of how they benefit from being part of Rotary. Learning to be honest about the value we bring, both as individuals and as clubs, can help us attract and retain the members that will be the best fit for the long run.
Slides used by Edith Lang and Sue Davies, partnership members Allenton Big Local, Joe Russo, chair and CE at Enthusiasm Trust (LTO), and Jane Bettany, worker, at the ‘Locally trusted organisations and Big Local partnerships’ learning and networking event. The event took place on Wednesday 7 December 2016.
Here's a 1-2 minute overview of our current change strategy and our impact at Inspired Legacies. Have you completed your legacy planning? Give us a call if you are a dreammaker or committed to co-creating the future.

Author’s Note - "This book represents what I have learned over the course of some three decades of leading, managing, and consulting to organizations and programs in both the public and nonprofit sectors, where I worked to build organizational competencies and capacity to improve the lives and prospects of marginalized, weakened, or otherwise disempowered individuals, families, groups, communities, and populations. Since I am addressing a wide audience with differing levels of exposure to the discipline of performance management, I will err on the side of explaining at a level of detail that will help newcomers to this approach understand and implement it.
Nevertheless, I hope that this document will also be of interest and use to those with greater experience in this area, and that especially the examples of the work of front-line organizations will be a valuable resource and inspiration to them. .......
I hope that this will be a useful guide for those who are interested in understanding performance management, those who want to learn how to develop performance-management systems, and those who are looking for practical knowledge about how to implement such systems in order to “manage to outcomes,” as Mario Morino puts it so well in his book Leap of Reason. I think of it as a “how-to” manual for leaders, managers, and staff working in directservice organizations to help them work reliably and sustainably at high levels of quality, efficiency, and effectiveness. I hope it will also be useful to organizational consultants occupied in the area of performance management. The text is resolutely practical, a synthesis of my experiences into a matter-of-fact approach to both strategic and tactical (day-to-day) performance management."

Diversity and Inclusion: The Business Case
2013 research found that almost all leaders polled believe diversity and inclusion can boost business performance.
However, many organizations say their inability to find enough women, people of color and other diverse groups to fill positions is a problem.
What is the Real Problem? They don’t know where to look.

To Whom It May Concern:
Mr. Steve Tyler served as the Development Consultant for LifeWorks Mentoring for three years from
2007-2009 and continued in that role in 2009-2010 when the organization merged with the L.A. Gay &
Lesbian Center and became LifeWorks.
Mr. Tyler’s contractual duties were to: Identify and solicit private donors and corporate donations;
identify and solicit in kind donations; identify and recruit host committee and event committee
members for fundraising events; supervise the efforts of the event committees and coordinate logistics
for events; and develop any further opportunities that could offset program expenses. His contractual
goal was to increase LifeWorks revenue by 25% annually.
Mr. Tyler exceeded expectations for fund and resource raising each of the three years he was contracted
with LifeWorks. He applied his years of experience in development for several non-profit organizations
to his efforts successfully and in a professional manner. He was able to transfer support of his prior
contacts to LifeWorks and develop many more enduring connections to our mission that continue to
support the organization to this day. He provided support, both practical and emotional to me in my
role as Executive Director as well as the many volunteers on the Board of Directors and other
committees. His enthusiasm and steadfastness inspired many in the organization to reach further and
further to ensure its growth.
Any organization that hires Mr. Tyler in a development role whether on staff or as a consultant will
benefit from all of these qualities that we experienced here at LifeWorks. When we hired him, we had
reached a plateau with our current donor base and resources at the time and needed a good “shot in
the arm.” I truly believe that he was a key factor in renewing the motivation of our Board of Directors
and staff and helped us all to stay focused on growing what was then a new and fast growing
organization.
Sincerely,
Michael J. Ferrera
